ive lowered my s38 engine 20mm so as to clear the bonnet.... it was all lined up and running nice before.... so how much do i have to lower the gbox mount to ensure the front half of the prop is straight with the box/engine, as i dont wanna rip the prop off or damage something
i could go out and check for deflection in the dougnut like i did before i lowered the engine.... but its raining and i dont fancy a wet arse
cheers

If you've lowered the engine by 20mm I'd imagine you'd need to lower the gearbox by 20mm also to level it back up no ?

errr surely te dougnut will be stressed in the other direction then?
ill have a look tmro, i was thinking more along the lines of 6mm assuming that the prop centre bearing is the piot point

have you got the answer to this as its quite simple to find out if you haven't.
measure the distance from the donut to the engine mounts (or to the position that you have placed the 20mm spacer at if not the mounts themselves ie if youve put it on the subframe mounts), and from the donut to the gearbox mount. the measurement should be with the tape straight down the centre of the car only and horizontal too. if the engine mounts or spacers are dead opposite each other, then measure from the donut to an imaginary line joining the mounts or spacers together (if you get me). if you send me the measurements ill return the distance you need to lower the gearbox mount. or ill send you an excel spreadsheet that will do the calcs for you so if you choose to alter it again then it'll tell you the new answer!!!
nice and easy
if you get stuck or dont understand me entirely, pm me and you can give me a call.
