nice one karan, it'll be good to meet up soon and see how this machine drifts winkeye

on a serious note though, have you done aor cosidered ant strengthening to the front cross member and rear subframe and diff mountings

its some thing that i'm going to be doing on the M3 very soon, also futre drive shaft issues are starting to worry me a bit :?

Nice one Karan, congratulations on a truly heroic chariot. Really looking forward to checking it out.

Have you got the engine sorted on the Silvia yet? Still time to book for the Ring on the 11th... :D

not gonna be able to do ringas much as i want... i got a low mileage engine but need bigger injectors and remap before tracking it just to make sure its safe at that boost as it was obviously detonating before

kos, i will eventually poly everything but at the moment everything bush wise is new bmw m3 spec so we'll see what happens...lol

dont really like the hole in the bonnet so gonna put spacers between the subframe and body i think.

u done ure brakes yet theo??

Thats a shame mate, will be another sneaky trip out there in the before the end if summer I imagine.

Not done the brakes yet, but I did buy a T piece yesterday so all I need to do is make up a short line connecting 1 of the 2 outlets on the M/C to the T piece and then running the 2 front brake lines off this. Will hopefully do this tomorrow, but I have no new brake fluid to go in which is a pain, and there's nowhere round here to get ATE blue.

BTW, when would it be possible to grab those struts? Are you away all next week?

i'm talking about the cross member up ftont, they have a habit of cracking, and seen and heard a few shocking thinks with rear beams.

i'm not going polly all round as i'm building a "street" car, so its a combination of polly and OE. rear beam's going to get stregthened ans ais cross member , got the re-enforcement kit from IE , which also covers the ARB's mounts.

my biggest worry is the mounting on the diff, might "plate it" and stregthen the area which bolts to the body

i'll post up pictures on my re-build thred as and when its done, i'm getting there and making good progress with mine now winkeye

I had a complete result with insuring my 335 the otherday Dan. Using a new policy, so 21yrs old, 0 NCB, mods declared - £560 TPFT, I added my Dad as a named driver, not sure if that makes it cheaper??

Give adrian flux a call and see if they can sort you out as well.

Should be laughing then. Curiously, they wouldn't insure me as a named driver on my dads policy, but gave me that price for my own policy, totally bizare. I'm not complaining though!

oh and car is really quick...... and it rained on my way home from demlots last night.... and itsplain dangerous in the wet coming on and off light throttle whilst cornering, the e36 rack and hartge h36 suspension and eibach arbs are sublime for road use if a tad soft after driving a rose jointed coilovered car around for so long. car is very easy to drive at high speed cornering also even with the trackinng out, i think the m3 running gear with well designed suspension purposely for the car really helps.... may eventually go harder though but as it stands on the road its lovely.

engine is sweet but occasionally misses at really low revs on partial throttle as it needs a good service with plugs rotors cap etc

ave not yet lowered the front subframe as ive realised if i do this my lovely manifold will be very close to the chassis rails as will the thermostat housing, and ill need to fit a smaller servo.... so im gonna live with the hole in the bonnet for a while i think until i either chop the rails a bit and reweld them or more expensively have the 2 primaries that will interfere modified slightly...this is slightly annoying

wanna get a kaaz 2 way drift spec diff for it too as i think it handles really well and would be suited a to a bit of dori dori from time to time lol

once again thanks to everyone who helped me!!!

cheers

Adrian Flux also cover you TPO on other cars if youre TPFT now. They didnt before, thats why I was with HIC, but Flux was much cheaper for me this year so I swapped to them.

I didnt know it until they read my quote details back to me - it was a nice surprise.
I only rang Flux because HIC screwed me over after being insured with them for the last 4 years - they wouldnt insure my 318i converted to 2.5 for less than £650 (up from £350 last year 8O ), but quoted me £400 for the S50'd Sport
