Fitted 4 of mine at the weekend and it took a fair amount of time.
As advised by trackM3 when I bought the bonnet I need a 5th securing method in the middle at the front. We have been thinking of something like a short bungy cord which goes from a bracket mounted under the BMW badge - on the underside of the bonnet to something structural further down. I think with one of the spot lights left out, which we were going to do anyway I will be able to get my hand in and do / undo this.
I am interested in how others have gotten over this though?
Fitting bonnet pins and how many to use?

I never fitted the bonnet myself as it is on a race car that was already built but I can try and get a photo for you tomorrow if you want. It has the 5th mounting point on it.

Been rushing about like a mad one today and forgot my bloody camera!
If it's any help, all I have is a 5th bonnet pin that is in one of the spare holes. Holds it really well. I'm back on it tomorrow so I'll try and remember to take my camera or phone and grab a shot.

You MUST fit that extra pin in the middle or it'll lift a lot...even a metal bonnet does!
....just a guess here, but shorty73 may be Craig.... in which case it's my old car!!
A bonnet pin can be mounted on the slam panel in the recessed oval shape in the panel but be warned...it isn't centred to the width of the car, so make sure you measure it! When you fit the pin, it'll put the hole in the bonnet like this....

"you MUST fit a 5th mount" blah blah blah I have only 4 pins and mine shakes a bit due to the rears actually having bolts through the threaded pins rather than the slidey ring pins since I lost them.
Then again my car only does about 115mph so I guess it might be more of an issue at proper speeds lol.

Well the scrutineers at Silverstone made a point of coming to see me after qualifying to tell me to fit one! Luckily I had one in my toolbox!
I saw a picture of how far it had lifted and it was a good 2 or 3 inches! That's teh GRP one though. The metal one I had did teh same but it had no framework on the back to save weight.

The pins on your sig are really far apart though, mine are just inboard of the main beams. My bonnet is also a frameless metal one.
