hey, just finished my turbo conversion and got her started with no oil leaks! unfortunately new oil, coil packs, megasquirt and spark plugs still doesnt seem to be enough for her to run smooth. it sounds like a v8 at the moment! This wouldnt bother me at all but its over fueling like a bitch, even with the 'correct map' on it. has anyone had this trouble before?

my theory is that becasue i haven driven it yet it hasnt settled in?

im goin to try and run it for at least a half an hour tonight to see if the fuel smoke clears!

do you have a wideband in there?
pretty sure your engine is not firing on all cylenders.
With great challenges comes great engineering.

What do you mean correct map? one supplied with MS, if so it needs mapping still, you've just got a base map which is somewhere to start from.

Don't just blindly run it rich (or lean for that matter) as you'll end up doing some damage!

Have you checked your valve clearances, they can make a big difference to idle quality.

You need to know things like Ant's injector size and fuel pressure compared to yours.

If his pressure's lower and/or injectors are smaller than yours then you'll be running rich and vice versa.

I'd agree with Gunni, I'd bet a few quid you're not running on all 6.

That causes the AFR to flash back and forth and causes shite running.

Check your HT leads aren't arcing out as that caused all manor of problems for me, new leads, all sorted!

What plug gap are you using? also what plugs? and we need pics!!! Sometimes pics will enable us to see or spot a potential issue.

HTH, Mark.
