MANY MANY thanks to davetouring, helped me get my chromerings done today, really different to everyone elses, kind of skinny with no bevel, but I think they look really good. Will get some pictures up tomorrow.
Again, thanks so much to dave who helped me out lOADS and saved a lot of money from my less than brilliant mechanic.
Andrew (dermlotcrew) good to meet you too, cheers for your advice.

They look really good. They are definately on my wish list. Are you going to carry the theme through the rest of the cabin with the heater dial rings, hazard switch bezel etc??
Any plans to paint in the instrument cluster surround to set the dials off a bit more?

dunno mate, hadn't really though about that. I researched about the heater rings/switch surrounds etc and thought in the end maybe it would be better just to have a mint interior one day, rather than blinging it up with chrome everywhere. As I see it the rings are a very subtle mod that should have been in there from the factory.
As for painting in the surround, again I was going for mostly standard appearance but what colour do yo rekon would look good? Definintely going to paint the needles red soon. Anyone know what colour they go at night if painted red?

They look the same as the ones ive fitted, they were a bit of a pain in the arse but well worth it. Theres a few different types on ebay i think that none of them are over Ԛ£20.

Here's where i got mine mate. Guy speaks english, delivered really quickly and they are good quality.
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... %3AIT&rd=1
as you can see mine were Ԛ£16 all in to my door.
You need to take the front off to do them really, as they don't fit in the same way as the ones other people have got. They need doing from the front but IMO look awesome once done. Took me and dave (well mostly dave) about 10 minutes.

Same guy i got mine off aswell all good no problems with him either. But after buying them i was looking at some other ones that had the angle on the back of them (you know what i mean William) but there a little bit chunkyier (if thats a word?

). All down to personal preference.

just an observation

nowt wrong with it, if it floats your boat
My parents got me one of those 'ripspeed' alloy gearknobs for my birthday...its a dark red 'smoked chrome' look.
was a bit wary of fitting it at first, but it actually looks quite cool

I don't know mate, I haven't looked to see if he has other items on ebay, would be worth a check. As you say, might tie in nicely, as they are good quality!
