hello guys looking for a bit of advice really. when i start the car while the engine is cold it wont hold revs and seems lumpy if i press the accelerator. but after a couple of presses on the accelerator its fine  also it sometimes seems to have a a sort of light clicking sound coming from the engine (i think). this sound speeds up as u press the accelerator. but after a couple of minutes it disappears :S

Help please !!!!!

Thanks

Kamal

that clicking could be chain rattle or worn tappets. Get some thin oil in there.

It could be so many things, first the ICV,AFM,TPS

Just to say you're not alone with the ticking sound; mine does exactly the same from cold start, disappears after a few secs.

I have chosen to ignore it. I'm cavalier that way.

(I'll try 5w40 next oil change though...)

Mine does the same from cold, not to bothered bout the rev hunting, in my experience older engines just tend to do this. As for the clicking, sounds like exhaust manifold/gasket

check all the breather hoses under the inlet manifold - theres a lot of them - at this age they probably are all split - also check the intake bellows
