im sure a lot of zoners have this problem when putting the car on lock that fooking irratating squeal??
is it from the rack or the pump?? and is there anything i can do to stop it or quiet it down??
any tips for this greatfully accepted as this is doing my head in can be so embarrasing at times

Screeching noise is probably the pump belt slipping, so renew or adjust.
If it's more of a groaning noise, then all you can do, without spending lots of pennies, is to flush and renew the fluid.

the gauze filter in my power steering system was blocked and this caused a whine on or near full lock. just cleaned it and flushed the system and it went.

Or just tighten up the belt on the pump, just like adjusting the alternator - simple way to stop it straight away and then buy your self the new parts.

belts fine been theyre done that wheres the filter that needs cleaning and whats best to flush it all with??? is there any thicker pas fluids that mite quiet it down a bit?? cheers Daz
