ours had blue vinyl interior, very good for wiping me and my sisters vomit off. Its the only car that ever made me sick

was never sick n the maxi-did almost kill my dad with it once tho....


coolest car from my childhood was my grandpa's Triumph Acclaim-Bloody rapid for a 1.3 and also where I amde my wee bro throw up (i spun him round on some new 'swirly' seats we had got, and he puked on the way to school )

Here's one - the Touring of its day. Superior aerodynamics due to it's bricky shape and acres of room at the back to make Touring owners with envy. Seats fold flat to make a comfy double bed - very popular with young couples.





Top speed? Easily a ton going downhill with a following wind and faulty speedo.

That one's speedo must be seriously out , never would a 318 do 140 not even idicated!

I manage 125 going down the hill by Coed y Brenin on the A470 once.. then my girlfriend woke up...lol!

This was in fourth as 318i (m10's def) go faster in fourth than 5th. Never would reach the rev limiter in 5th. Can't really go above 115(indicated) in 5th.

I had a Triumph Acclaim in that colour when I was like 13/14! It was a CD model with Leccy Windows all round and I loved it!

surely it's good for more than that. I had an indicated 126 on the flat. 130 on a slight downhill.

I only had about a 2 miles of driveway before I had to turn off, erm I mean mearge onto the public highways. Anyone with a 3 mile drive way?

'twas the same magical straights as i went down (as passenger) but a note to any eejits thinking of doing the same, the a470 past coed-y-brenin thru to trawsfynydd are now crawling with hidden mobile cameras...

and if you then cut across to bala, you will find cameras along there too.

whats up with all your cars????? iv had the 320i that iv got at 140, with an audi with twin 45 webbers right up my arse indicating the same, and iv had it off the clock with the nitrous on

but i have done a couple of little mods like porting, cam, 6branch 3" straight thru exhaust hmmmm that'll be why then

Its not so gorgeous when you jump into the car in shorts, and realise the sun has been on the car and you cant jump back out because your skin is fusing to the plastic seats! ouuuuuch!
I know from experience! My parents had one, built like a tank though, so when a metro hit it at speed from behind (while maxi was parked), funnily enough the metro came off worse!
