At the moment you're best off getting the Porter Cable from Autopia in the States. The UDM (240V Clone) is delayed further and further it seems due to a combination of CE mark problems and a vibration problem. We are going to be stocking the YDM when it eventually is released but won't do it until we KNOW it's be perfected.

We can sell you a complete range of backing plates, pads and polishes to go with it but as you know you'll still need a transformer and it's wise to get an extension lead so you dont have to lug the transformer around the car continuosly.

Get in touch and I'll tell you where to get the discount codes for Autopia and the best place to get the transformer, ex lead and plug (you need to change this too of course)...

The other option is to buy a second-hand PC, a month or so ago there were loads up for grab with and without the transfomer but the delays of the UDM have meant people seem to be holding on to them now....

Finally I can order you one from the US and deal with the delivery etc and set you up with a kit as extensive as you need it to be!!

All the best for now - Nick

Nick, Any idea what the UDM is going to cost yet?

I quite fancy one of these as you don't need to mess around with transformers ect,

Hi Mate - Last I heard the UDM was going to retail at just the right side of 100 quid, including a backing plate, and some sort of bag if I remember correctly!

Porter Cables are a bit hit and miss: some say they have them delivered with the value marked at $5, so very little VAT and duty, others say they have paid top wack for both so the price seems to be anywhere from about £100 - £135, and you still need the tranny which, for a single outlet type is about £40 delivered from somewhere like screwfix or machine mart....

The delays are really starting to do my head in, we have had so many enquiries from folk wanting a complete starter-kit ie PC, backing plates, pads, polishes, protectants, applicators, mfs etc, we held off ordering 20 Porter cables having been informed that the UDM was a matter of weeks away but now people are getting impatient. We on the other hand don't want to be stuck with a shelf full of 'obselete' PCs, nor do we want to keep leting people down!!

Cheers - Nick.
