Hi all can any 335 owners advise me with these couple of bits....................

1990 735i
This item seems to have heater pipes running from behind bulkhead - do I need this?
Image
And secondly................
Image
Is this a main power lead?

I'm not a mechanic but am rather bravely (read stupidly) tackling this conversion alone!

I already have a list of bits:-

Using auto 735i engine 1990 (bargain ebay find £25 whole car!)
e30.de mounts p3
324td fan and clutch (anyone fitted one with pics showing clearance?)
e28 535 manual rad
e28 gbox
e28 flywheel and clutch (525)
m3 prop
m3 exhaust
m3 lsd

Just spent my spare couple of hours these last few mornings removing exhaust, prop, disconnecting accel cable removing rad etc...
Just need to separate the fuel lines, the power steering fluid reservoir and unbolt engine mounts and the big 30 will be ready to be lifted.

Pls help

the top pic is the heater valve. you dont need that as you will be keeping your e30 heating system and will be re plumbing your m30 hoses to suit.

Disconnect the entire engine wiring loom and remove it mate, your second photo shows the positive terminal for power to the loom.

When you've got it all removed it'll make more sense :D

Have fun mate, it's well worth it

Was a bit of a find really!
2grands worth of recent engine overhaul and the fella wanted to see how fast it went!! It went 140mph before the passenger tyre blew and decided to redesign the front wing and bumper. Put the spare on but didnt realise that the wheel had too much offset and clamped up against the strut and caliper!! After I bought it - chiseled wheel off - replaced wing and it sailed thru MOT!

Will hopefully have the lump out tomorrow (weather willing)

Well what a waste of a fine weathered week! Monday- went to hoist engine out and my hoist gave upon me!
Just had enough power to lift block off of the mounts!
Ebay AGAIN! :x

Managed to find a cheap hydraulic ram and a load leveler AND they arrived today!

Sunday is next chance I get to have another crack at it
