clear side repeaters

ive had these on my car for a while now and was wondering if they are on "upside down" they have a black plastic panel at the front then the black runs along one edge of the lens ,should the black along the edge be at the top or the bottom of the light ??

The shape of the front of the indicator housing should follow the line of the wheel arch, so the black section goes towards the front of the car... (see my sig pic) with the lense towards the top of the unit.
