After owning my touring for only a week or so it developed a raspy exhaust, this worsened rapidly, and a solution was needed.
After a little forum hunting, i discovered i had a two piece and i could get the whole lot 2nd hand from a user here. He even offered to deliver to my door :D . After a calculated and incorrect guess i decided i only needed the rear section of the 2 piece, and proceeded to purchase the item.
After much swearing i realised i needed a new fitting kit, and again after some forum hunting here, found i could get a kit from asf at a reasonable price. I waited the day or so for postage and recieved the kit, the exhaust being held in place temporarily with a belt (the old backbox i add). After much more swearing, i managed to solo the new back section onto the car and i was done, and initially one happy bunny.
However, it didn't take me long to realise the exhaust was still burbling, and this new burbling was gradually worsening... :(
As it was a little more gradual, i weighed up some options and decided on a new replacement front section, which i purchased from Cotswold BMW (zimmerbimmer on here) at a discount price. I was very happy with this.
Now.. during the next few days whilst waiting out the torrential weather i happened upon a super tempting offer - see this link -> http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 0145771602

Now with this booked for today (Monday 30th), i hastily sold the newly aquired front section, still in its wrapping (for a loss of £30). I figured i would recoup the cash asap, as the exhaust was in the shed taking up space.
So i took the car in to Blue Flame today, and basically they "can't do it on a touring" "because its a completely different floorpan" to quote them...
Now i read the auction carefully, and i am pretty certain i told them i had a touring beforehand (although they say not).
So back at square one again still requiring a new front section

I have added a poll for you to decide my e30s fate.

Crikey. Bring it to me & I'll fit a front section for you. It's only the exhaust!

Touring floorpan doesn't differ anyway....

I think they just wanted a bling bling cab or msport for their "videos" tbh. My hearse like touring wasn't good enough for them. :(

floorpan is identical. Tell them you're going to bring trading standards into it if they dont honour thir promise as advertised. Get legal on their ass.

He also mentioned, the angle of the pipes, and something about it being made for the mtec kit...
I know what you mean Munky, but for a £150 Ebay deal, i can't be arsed. I just want an exhaust not a court case. :)

pansy.

But fair enough. A lot of action for a little satisfaction. (is that a song lyric?)

Why are you thinking of scrapping a car because it needs new downpipes?!

Erm, exhaust placement on mtech and non mtech is identical. Phone them, make them feel stupid, make you feel better. Then go get an exhaust and do it yourself.

40 miles... Once to drop it off, then home, then again to pick it up, so i needed a mate both journeys. Pain in the arse for nothing.

If you write to trading standards and they think you have a point they will take the matter off your hands and sort it for you. However if you havent actually paid anything yet then I think your on thin ground. Also, don't scrap the car it clearly just needs new exhaust components and that's hardly the end of the world. I'm sure there'll be pattern parts available for a song at motor factors or tired and exhausted type places.

To be fair if a blowing exhaust has got you fazed you're best off scrapping it.

Shouldn't take long to swap out the front section.
Plenty of WD40 where the front pipes join the manifold.
