u arite mate, i have seen this many times b4. I wanted to do the same but came across the full m3 leather. what you need to do is weld an e30 seat frame to the rs seat and then stick them back in the rail. done. it sounds difficult but is easy, as long as ypu know how to weld. the seats will sit about an inch higher than they used to. 8)

unbolt the runners 4 bolts on each seat, fabricate up the brackets and weld them on, then just bolt the runners back on the seats and seats into car,
did this ages ago on my 320i

it can b done without welding too, i've done it to my e30 year ago. u have 2 take an 2x2inch angle-burin (i hope its the rite word) and bolt it rite 2 the bottom of the seat rite instead of the fords oem seat frame. Then bolt the bmw rails 2 the angle-burin (still not sure is this word rite). The only thing is be careful with measurements when drilling holes in the angle-burin (still damn not sure) so they fit the seat and the rails. I'll try to post some pics when i get to my car (maybe after a weak)
