right..... this may seem idiotic to a few of you but i thought it worth investigating
a friend of mine has a e36 328 with the bbs alloys they manufactured for that car, and to be honest with you i prefer these alloys to the bbs wheels fitted to the e30 (am i wrong???)
my e30 is not an m3 therefore not a 5stud fitment, which is where my problem comes in, as the e36 is 5 stud pattern
my question is how easy is it to modify an e30 to take e36 wheels, what is needed and how much approximately would be the cost, is there aything that this modification would affect that i would need to know about
thanks guys
E36 wheels on an e30?

A)The easiest way would be to run E30 M3 hubs and use spacers to get the offset right, although not sure how safe these spacers would be to use.
B)use E36 compact (Ti) Rear trailing arms (E36 offset/5stud) and E36 (any) front legs, but this creates the issue of getting the right springs/shocks due to the weight differences between E30 and E36
or
C)I believe that you can get bolt on spacers that bolt on with 4 stud fitting, but with 5 studs (holes!) to fit the new wheel with if that makes sence. Again, not sure how safe these are. Hope this helps.

iirc and someone may correct me: e36 compact rear hubs fit the e30 trailing arms (apart from the two range topping models) and e36 front struts are the same as e30 ones.
your best bet is to find a crashed e36 compact and have the lot, rear hubs, front struts/wheel beatings and hubs, use you current springs and dampers.
brakes become a problem though as you just made your 4 stud discs useless.
m3 or e36 brakes will cure this though. and give you better brakes.

The E30 325i runs a 42X75X37 Wheel bearing (33411130617) This also fits the E30 M3 and Z3 2.8 (among others), where as the E36 318ti (discs) runs a 39X72X37 Wheel bearing (33411124358) so hence won't fit the E30 trailing arm.
However, the E36 323ti runs the same bearing as the E30 (......617) but don't think these were available in the uk.
Of course another option is the Z3 2.8i trailing arms
