HELLO EVERY1. I HAVE A STANDARD 325I MOTORSPORT CONVER ON 1991H IM CURRENTLY RE BUILDING THE ENGINE. I WOULD LIKE TO PUT A RACE CAMSHAFT BUT DONT HAVE A CLUE WHAT NUMBER TO CHOOSE FROM THE E30 ZONE SHOP. MY ENGINE HAS A STAMP WITCH SHOWS 2.5 TOP 2.7 BOTTOM. I WAS THINKING BOUT CATCAMS AS SCHRICK IS OUT OF BY BUDGET. ZONE SHOP ADV BE I SHOULD GET 273.273. ANY ADV IF ITS THE RIGHT 1. I DRIVE MY CAR HARD MOST OF THE TIME BUT DONT REALLY WANT TO LOOSE ANY TOP END SPEED

THANKS

the higher the lift of the cam the more lumpy the car will be at idle speed and you will have to rev it more to get moving.

273-273 is a good choice im my opinion

I've got a Catcam 273 in my 2.7, very good cam for power without losing too much torque. My engine comes 'on cam' at about 3000rpm.

Cheers,

+vat and import.

stil a £300 cam and then you need the matching springs for the extra £Â£

CatCams 273/273 is THE weapon of choice, buy from me and the post is free

how come you need matching springs with the schrick and not with the catcam or are you just referring to duration?

For the sort of duration no need for springs, Shrick or otherwise...Shricks are available in UK for £300 inc vat etc so not bad value for money

Camshafts are ground to spec first then heat treated last, thus they're not shiny on the lobes. Chilled cast iron is the material that suits friction type rockers that we have.

Duration is only a small part of a cam's spec, profile and lift also play a part. Schrick recommend that you use their springs for this type of cam, Catcams don't.

Cheers,
