What do people think? Is the MTec II boot spoiler seen as a cool item to have? The problem with the one on the car is that whoever fitted it, welded the bolts to the underside of the bootlid(they must have been some broken ones...) so it means getting a brand new bootlid if I do replace
MTec II boot spoiler or ordinary lip boot spoiler?

The 318iS I just bought came with a MTec II boot spoiler. However, I'm thinking of getting rid and replacing with a colour coded regular boot spoiler, which I believe was the way they came out of the factory.

Not a fan of the M-Tech spoiler on a non M-Tech car, i'd say bin the spoiler and get the SE lip spoiler that should be on the car.
But thats just me.

Thanks for the feedback guys, think I need to find a new boot and spoiler.
@Chris,
Thanks for offer, but I'm based in Ireland so postage could be pricey, and would probably get damaged in transit. I'll ring around a few places and see if one in the same colour might be available.

I reckon the Tec II spoiler can look good if the car's got the bottom half of the rear valance colour-coded (they're black as standard) and maybe the rear bumper too....maybe get a Photoshopped pic done and if you like it'll only be a tenner for paint

Lower valences are colour coded, but I plan on getting them resprayed black, trying to get it looking as it came out of the factory.

On closer inspection, the lower part of the MTec II spoiler seems to be nasty fibreglass, so I don't care if it gets damaged removing it. Can't make an omlette without breaking some eggs.
