Great pics there Dameon :D

It does look like a real high quality kit.

I am in the same boat as jaistanley, cant afford an X-pipe at the mo' but will be looking at one in the coming months.
Let me know when your going for 1 jaistanley, would be good to know the answer from BTB. You'll probably be ordering well ahead of me as im miles off completion.

It really is quality stuff. It's a shame to put it under a car; I wouldn't mind it on my mantlepiece :P

I think BTB will be a lot more relaxed about producing X pipes, lord knows what their leadtime would be because their workload changes weekly. I would like to think 4 weeks notice to get them made would be sufficient - at a guess.

JMC, I hope you do get yours finished to enjoy for the summer. Mine is going in to have the A/C pipes made up tomorrow 8)

Now that is a nice bit of kit! The welding is intense, intensely good. The X pipe shows it off best, pure quality.

Hell yea... if santa pod is still open when I finish this project. Or if a glacier hasn't eroded the entire south of England or something.

OK so I seriously cant afford it, it might get me completely single forever and I'm now un-employed; but what's the process for ordering an 'X' pipe? I deliberately didn't give anyone a clue what I wanted so they all gave me cash for my birthday and I might be able to afford one!

It really looks like an almighty pain in the chuff to make a section of exhaust at home that'll link to those manifolds. Not something I fancy. Making an exhaust from the X pipe back is well within the realms of possiblity though I'd say.

If I were to leave it and order it in the future (perhpas when I find a new job!!!) will BTB honour the current price or is there discount in there for volume (group buy discount)?

Many thanks.

Im in exactly the same situation. Depending on the outcome of your question i may well be going for an X-pipe aswell.

Guys, the price quoted is the group buy price.

They were ok adding bits on during the production - but once our whole rolling order is finished then prices will not be the same, they will also be slower to make one off's.

I think it's a case of speak now, or forever hold your peace! Sorry

m-dtech, thanks for the PM, I'll answer here now though.

Dameon has taken over the group buy as stated above. All contact should go through him for these manifolds.

It's worth bearing in mind that BTB said the M50 and S50 would require different fitments, so one of these manifolds, in theory won't fit your car. Having said that a lad on here has both an M50 and an S50 engined E30 and he said his manifold would fit both of his cars.

Just thought all S50 owners should be aware that I am breaking an S50B32 (the 3.2 version) of the E36 M3 engine. Most parts available, see the for sale section.

Dameon...

Having mulled it over for as long as reasonably possible...

Can I also order a X pipe?? Gonig to bite the bullet and sell some of the car audio stuff etc to justify the cost

Is it too late? Do I need to contact BTB myself? ETC ETC. I really dont fancy the prospect of making one at home, or paying an even more inflated price. Plus the pictures of the welding/quality got me all moist.

Many thanks mate...

Sorry if I am butting in, but anyone interested in this system (S50/52) may have to wait a bit longer I'm afraid.

As some of you already know, Dameon has been very badly affected by the floods and will probably not be on the Zone for a good few weeks yet.... :(

I am sure Dameon will see the project through - he and Ste (and Ian  ) won't have gone this far to give up now....but under the current circumstances, I would imagine he has more pressing issues to resolve?

I know this might not be great news for some of you, but please understand that Dameon is in a far worse situation at the moment.

As soon as he is back on track, I have no doubt that he'll be on the case and chasing this up in his usual methodical and efficient way... :D

Thanks for your understanding and I know Dameon will too....

Bruce.

Bruce, can you pass on my best wishes to Dameon and his family when you see him next :thumb:

Bloody hell!

I hadn't realised, only logged on to ask about the X pipe (seems kinda trivial now - I'll ring BTB myself if thats the best course of action).

Poor old Dameon, what a turd of a thing to happen. My heart goes out to all affected.

OK chaps...

I rang BTB who have been trying to contact Dameon (I explained me might be out of action for a while due to the weather!)

The order is complete! Woohoo!

They asked me if Dameon will be collecting money and paying the invoice as one, or if each person should be invoiced separately. I told them that I think its the latter, expecially in light of Dameons position atm.

They would like each of us to contact them with details of payment and with detials of delivery or if we would like to collect.

The final price was as follows:

Manifolds: £765 +vat (so £898.87)
X pipe: £260 =vat (so £305.50)

The above price doesn't include delivery if thats how you'd like to receive the order.

They are contactable on 01327 261797

Also: sales@btbexhausts.f9.co.uk

Hope this is good news for all you fellow GB'ers!

I also asked them to make me an X pipe and they are getting back to me with a price. If they made an extra one or two during the manufacturing time: I bagsie it!

Thats great news Jai :woohoo:

Do we have a name to contact at BTB or do we just ring up and explain who we are?

Any news on how Dameon is doing?

Obviously things change, but thats loads more expensive than the price they originally told me and more expensive than BTB :?

Evening all,

Yes Jai is correct, I have just had email from BTB stating that they are all complete and ready to be collected. My apolgies for not being on for a while however we are living in a hotel at the moment and trying to rebuild our house and workshops

BTB will only release manifolds to all those in the Group buy as they have your names so no worries there.

Any problems then please ring me on my mobile guys. Hope you are all well and will hopefully be back on and back to normal soon....
(before Christmas hopefully)

Aaaah, Dameon.. You're alive!

How's it going? You say your workshops were hit.. The words on everyones lips are: did the project cars and engines survive??? Thoughts go out to you and the family dude.

While you're about: I'm seriously considering the cross pipe issue. Having seen it in the flesh you're the best man to ask. If making a system at home is it feasible to make a system that'll fit to the manifold downpipes or will it be much (read: £300) easier to make one that mates to the x pipe??

Many thanks dude... Chin up eh?

Thanks Jai,

Thanks for your kind words too. Not sure about the X pipe but I would fancy my chances at making one from the x pipe back rather than trying to fabricate the bends to meet the underside of the manifolds and the x pipe itself. I would think that making the system to fit to the BTB X pipe would be pretty straightforward.

Also the quality of the x pipe and the possible performance increases could make it worth it. My car was booked into Shepsevo3 down at castle coombe to see what numbers it would make but due to unforseen circumstances I couldn't make it.

Re: damage to the cars, lets just say it's not pretty but I have high hopes of being able to save the Blue Touring although it was in water 4'6" deep. I guess with it being in the infancy of reconstruction it should be salvageable.

All the best

Dameon.

I will wing btb 2mo to get mine delived

I know its last thing on you mind atm, but did you say bruce (zed one) had details of the servo plates? mind you, is he affected also?!

Re The servo plates, Bruce has all the CAD files required to make them. Best dealing with him for them as he has the contact details to get them made etc. In total there are three plates, two for the servo relocation through the bulkhead and one plate for the relocation of the servo bracket inside the car.

The red touring is alive and well still - thankfully got it away in time. :D

Cooool. I'd hoped the red car was still alive!

Jhonno: Get some pictures up when they arrive dude!

I am waiting on sorting the cash out (I only just realised I hadn't given Ste my details - lame), then I'm going to drive to Daventry to pick up the manifolds (and X pipe) myself I think. How much was delivery Jhonno?

I have the cad drawings for the servo plates, but not the internal plate... I'm on the hunt too. If you are getting some made Jhonno, let me know, might be cheaper for a couple?
