It's always nice to see what other enthusiasts use, and sometimes can give you ideas for new products to try.

I'll kick it all off as I have just had a good tidy up.

well its deffo over £500 worth, didnt say there was anything wrong with pick and mix, i use what works for me and what works well on the particular paint and surface i'm working on

I'm impressed, I thought I was a bit anal about my cleaning/detailing, but your kit wins by a mile. I'm happy with my meguiars products, and will keep adding as and when I can....

ive just got some meguiars stuff too, really pleased with the results so far.ive bought the cool bg kit plus the deep crystal system, nxt interior cleaner, water magnet, 3 microfibre cloths, an interior long brissle brush thing and a couple of applicator pads. need the boot tidy now as it wont all fit in the bag! did my mates fto with the stuff today and we were well impressed.

im going to order myself some zainio tonight Z-AIO, Z1 show car polish Lock, Z2 Pro show carp olish for clear coats, and a couple of pads for my porter cable and then ill get some pics up as i cant be bothered to get it all out and take a piccy,

my car is so dirty. dave you wouldnt be happy.

right my collection.

1st of, maguairs range of spray wax's, window cleaner, bug tat remover, wheel cleaner, quick detailer, gold class shampoo, meguairs tyre shine etc.



meguairs 3 stage, scratch-x, t-cut scratch remover, trim detailer, wheel seel and protect, colour polish( use it about 1 a year to give it a better colour and to fill the odd stone chip), sonus swirl remover (never used it, but it came free with the porter cable, and a few others



porter cable with flexi pad, 3 different pads atm, autoglym glass poish, interior shampoo, autoglym UDS, Zainio swirl and scratch remover, Zainio Z5 pro, chemical wet mirror finish ( im a big fan of this gives the wettest looking finish.



im also expecting delivery of a couple of Zainio products, Zainio Z8 spray and Zainio Z-aio, also some Menzena polish, and a lake county yello cutting pad.

i also have a big box of micro fibre, drying towel, applicators etc.

just need to get some polycharger and that will do me for a while.

i want to get rid of the meguairs and step up to the full range of chemical guys and zainio but money is the factor

I'm totally crap as this detailing thing. Certainly learning it isn't cheap.

I'm wanting to start building up a collection and may just start off with the Meguiars Deep Crystal Carbauba Wax as my paintwork is in relatively good condition.

I havent washed any of our cars in well over a week but it seems to do the job.

No pics yet as none of it has arrived but I ordered some bits today.

Sonus Grey clay bar
Bottle of Zymol Cleaner Wax
Some foam applicator pads
Microfibre towels
Wool wash mitt

Everything bar the applicator pads came from e-bay, all up cost me about £45. In the past I had used a normal sponge and the old faithful Autoglym and that nasty polishing cloth which seems to moult all over the car, after reading some of the post on here decided to get some half decent stuff, i`m going to see how I get on with this stuff and then when i`m a bit more flush i`ll perhaps invest in some of the Zaino stuff.
I plan to try it all out on my Honda first as it`s going up for sale ASAP so I want it to look it`s best.
One thing I didn`t buy is a lubricant for the clay, I read somewhere here that it`s possible to use diluted fairy liquid, is this true?????
I will be doing the BMW after I have done headgasket, don`t see much point in going to all the trouble of cleaning it when I can`t even drive it :

An hour a week is all it takes once it is up to scratch. Then a proper going over every other month would be enough.

I normally do it monthly just before the Lakeside meet. The days off I get leave me with nothing to do as my mates are working so I spend the time on the car.

A normal weekly wash cycle is:

Clean wheels,
foam car and allow to dwell for 5 minutes
rinse,
wash with lambswool wash mitt and two bucket method,
rinse,
Dry
mist down with victoria quick detailer (Helps prolong the wax protection)

Windows are sealed with karlack68 so just need a wipe with a drying towel and they are crystal clear.

Dress tyres if needed, quick wipe of exhaust pipes,

Finish with a nice cuppa and a choccy biscuit
