Can it be done in a e30.I have already got 2 pioneer spl 1000w speakers but want to put 2 more 3000w pioneers in with them running off a sub control.
Can I fit this or have I got to reduce it to 3 speakers in total, which I think will be o.k for the boot size.I am not going for any spl contest but must admit I do love my bass!! I think you need a 24l box minimum for the 1000w speakers so bare this in mind?

I got 4 15" subs in mine...but the vibration is horrid....i'm back down to 2 now!

I'd say consider going for 2 15's rather than anymore 12's!

Forgot to say that a lot of the body is held together with fibre glass!!

Would you still recomend 2x15"
Iknow that the 2 in there are not capable of damaging the kit,but with an added 2x 3000w pioneers? will I end up in trouble??

I think 2 15's are enough....mine provide plenty off bass in both my coupe, and my bro's cab (put the other 2 subs in there!)

I can't see there being that much virbration either that it cracks the kit....just dynamat the boot and you should be okay...!

the Baur's looking good! Like the wheels!

Go with the four 12's they'll be easier to fit.

If you have a ski hatch i'd make a box like this:Image

so having the rear of the box wedged against the rear of the seat and cut out the rear of the box where the ski hatch is. This should make the box just a holder for the subs and the boot will be the box now all the bass will go into the cabin. I did this on an e46 saloon and the sound was awesome, I used four cheap 12" jbls and it was so deep and clear with less vibration than normal setups.

Or

Another box that I designed was a isobaric ported box where you have one (or in this case two) speakers on the front of the box with a big port in the middle the put two other speakers on top of the speakers already in the box, so you will see the rear of two speakers and the rear of the other speakers will be inside the box. This is something I tried in my first e30 five years ago. The sound is unbelivably clean due to one speaker pushing and another pulling which stops all the wobble wobble you get when pushing the speakers hard. You need to tune the box low though to compensate. Must also add that I didn't have an arm rest in this car because it was a 316i :( so the box was facing the rear of the boot, number plate side.

How much dynamat would I need? also is the sound deadning paint any good. Its a lot cheaper than dynamat but have never seen any reviews for it.

As for the 2x15",I do not think it will fit ,the baur has got 2 metal carriers hanging down about 5" underneath the shelf for the roof panel to slide into.I am going to paint it next month and the interior is going to get retrimmed so thought it would be best to fit the box now.I have made the install for 2x12" but it should be easy enough to change it.Was thinking about having 2 at the back facing towards the number plate and 1 each side where the Battery normally sits and the 3 amps will run along the middle winkeye Not sure whether it will work or not and I have not done the measurements yet but I really can not see why it won't go.Has it been done before?

Only use the proper stuff....i've not found anything that works as good! I used a spray once and it was rubbish! shop around and buy the proper stuff and you'll get best results!

If you're serious about ICE then it's going to cost you! Cutting corners will only show up when it's finished, and you wish you'd done something different!

I've got the same subs in my bro's e30 cab....the boot can't be smaller than that surely?

Could do a double isobaric build.. that way you can still have a box under 2 cubic letires per sub. will shake your car to peices though...

That's worth a try or you could put a big box in the middle with two subs at the front and one on each side, but you must seal of the subs in pairs or you will get cancellation.

That's what I said in my last post.

BTW The spray sounddeadening is for hard to reach places not flat pannels.

Sorry fella I did not read that. But that is not how I would build it.

Both sub's in the same hole. facing each other. One wired + to + and - to - and the other + to - and - to +, therefore working as one big sub..

This is what I am gonna go for now.Should free up a bit more space in the boot for the amps/battery and power cap.If I done this would I be right in thinking that I would have to pair the 2x3000w and the 2x 1000w.Also would reversing the polarity damage the speaker?

I'm saying the same as you've shown in the pic but with 4 speakers and a port in the middle.

What do you think I meant?
