Hi,

I have a G reg 316i and i love it! bought it for next to nothing as the lad that sold it didnt have a clue!

I have a couple questions:

1- Can i get this to work with mine? and how hard is it to do? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 27122&rd=1

2- How do i go about tinting the main beam headlights? i have the dipped beams done but the main beams seem like sealed units?

3- Anyone selling any sumps? mine seems to be leaking from a small hairline crack in it!

Thanks everyone! will get some pics of the car up later

Welcome. 8) No idea bout the computer my other 316i has one but it's got a 6 cylinder engine.Think it was the 6cylinders that came with them. There is a guide to fitting them and Ill try to find it for you and see if it will fit the 316i.

The e-bay advert does say
"THIS COMES WITH ALL THE PARTS TO RETRO FIT TO ANY BM"

Would be cool if it would fit. What sort of things does this show? what things can you control?

Hi fellow 316i-er, welcome to the Zone :D

In answer to your first question, you will be able to make it work with yours, and I don't think it's difficult either, lots of people on here have done it and I'm sure someone'll be able to help you :)

To answer your second question, there's a guide here which should tell you how to separate the main beams:

http://www.e30zone.co.uk/modules.php?na ... hhella.htm

And your third question, you'd be better off sticking a post in the "Wanted" section for this :thumb:

Sjoerd does it really do 0-60 times? 8O And is it accurate?

I know the MPG thing is pants, and nowhere near the actual MPG you're getting.

The only reason I'd get a 13-button OBC is for the way it tells you how much fuel is in the tank if you type in a special code, otherwise 6-button's the way to go :)

Though if it does 0-60 times....

there is a timer on the OBC, which is manually controlled. It doesn't automatically give you your 0-60 time but if you press it when you start and when you get to 60, there's your time.
You don't need a code to see what's left in the tank, just push the range button. it doesn't work though, mine says 20 miles to go and i'll drive 30 miles, and it will still say 20 miles to go! Guess it's just trying to make you fill up with plenty of time to spare!

It's not really you're time though as the speedo's overreading, it's going to be a very optimistic 0-60

Coupled with the fact that Gav says the "range" function doesn't work, I'm back to thinking that the 13-button OBC's are a bit useless as I did before :D
