A previous owner of my car appears to have cleaned every piece of glass with steel wool! There are scratches galore. If I lived in the UK I might consider buying a non-running Tourer for the glass, but over here it's not so easy. Anyone have any ideas how to try and remove, or at least makes less obvious, the scratched glass?

you can polish them with a porta cable and polishng compound, like you would your paint.

google porter cable 7424

You'll need a specialist polish to even touch glass. Automotive clear coat polishes will be hopeless, trust me.

Be careful though using a polishing machine and compound as too much pressure can leave ripples in the glass. I've seen this happen and it looks horrendous.march109 wrote:you can polish them with a porta cable and polishng compound, like you would your paint.

Thanks for the warning!
I will try on a small area first and see what happens. I'm building a small folder of jobs that need doing, and saving the answers from here to get them all done. Looks like I have my work cut out, but looking forward to it (must be mad!)!
