I've just come back form the states where a mate was getting maried in Indianapolis. While I was there I thought i would hire something tastey for the kick of it, and this is what I got:

If you ever go the states, hire this car, A Hertz Shelby Mustang GTH.
Sounds absolutely glorious and with about 350BHP, it dont half go well!
Worth every penny.
Just a bit naff round bends, unless you like taking your corners at 90deg to them winkeye

If the UK didnt have any corners I would buy one in an instance, I nearly cried when I had to give it back, still upsets me now thinking about it

And guess what parked next to me one day while we were out getting the wedding suits:

Mind if I ask what the rate was? I'd be interested to compare it with my recent hire 'car' in Europe.

Hertz are doing it as a throw back to the GT350 'rent a racer' scheme that they made available to rent back in the 60's-70's
If you want to know what this car is all about then go here;

http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/Dr ... eId=116729

It cost $129/day to rent plus insurance and all that, well worth it, put a huge smile on my face :D

This car is so unashamably american, its big, its powerful, its crued and it ain't shy!
Have it here and you'd stand out like a sore thumb but over there it blended in.
while in america I thought I'd get the most american thing I could, when in Rome and all that

Cornering isn't it strongest point, but I think thats also because of it being a cab as well, it isn't bad is just isn't great either, cornering was not at the top of the list when they made this!

It was totally different from anything i've driven before, it had huge amounts of character and was so easy to drive, totally different driving experinece from the BM's I used to driving. In that way I loved it!.

I think it holds a certain charm but thats just my opinion, compared to most cars in America it was a beauty!
Have to agree though, Cobra is a beauty.

I'd love to own a 60's 'stang, Shelby or Cobra jet one, lovely. Couldn't afford to run it though!

One morning I was driving through Guilford and a bloke in a cobra came past me. As he got in front of me he stamped on the accelerator (clearly showing off- as you would) and the back end lost traction and he smashed it to pieces right in front of me! literally to pieces! I felt so bad for him. He was fine btw
