Very common problem, and yes, I'm afraid your rack is toast.
You may go off the idea of a new one from the stealer when they tell you the price.
Sensible options are, exchange rack from a power steering specialist, good rack from a scrappy or convert to manual steering.
If you replace the rack , thoroughly flush out the pump and lines to remove all the old (probably silver or grey) fluid with nice new red fluid.

had the same problem on my is. ended up having the rack rep[laced by bexley at just under Ԛ£300 
ive got a 325ise sat here with a decent rack as far as i know not had any leaks etc Daz leeds
