no no no not a which exhaust shuold i buy thread,

how can you tell which exhaust you have on a 325i 1990, 2 piece or 3 piece?

my exhaust system is like this

manifold --> down pipes (not seperate!) leads to the/a center box?? --> lastly the back box?

to me that is a 2 piece system? is this correct?

also anybody know why it was changed? any performance difference between 2 - 3?? are they interchangable 2 - 3?

thanks.

I think if you change the whole lot, you can run either, but you can't interchange parts from each system..

If you look at the backbox, if it has two long pipes (all one piece) leading all the way to almost the centre box, then I think that's a 2 piece system, but I could be wrong. :?

yours sounds 2 piece mate, from what i know 3 piece was on chrome cars.

Dunno about the difference performance wise. U can only change the systems as a whole manifolds are the same, so no swapping back boxes i think.

Perfromance wise i think they are the same, but later cars were equiped to cat converter compatible

HTH

I have a stainless 3 piece system on my sport
