I've got two small patches on my car bonnet and boot lid where the laquer has come off, I think it has been like this for a while. What would be the best way to deal with this? can I just laquer over it?

you really need to have the whole panel done. Lacquer should be applied before the basecoat is dry and you will also struggle to blend it..

i have heard the same thing :( once the lacquer has started to peel the only option is to repaint :(
