Cheers Andy, the other good thing is that when he took the quarter panel bit of body kit off on both sides, he said it is all rust free underneath.

Looks sorted mate , what you said about bein embarassed at a meet ,did you mean that ? , Its just that im goin to Taunton this Sunday and i am a bit scared about the type of people that you just portrayed , my car is a work in progress at the mo , one day it will get done !
Dont get me wrong its not an absolute shed , but it has a few little iffy bits and the wheels are curbed up , its a 325 on an E , it only set me back Ԛ£460 , but i dont wanna get there and have people lookin down their noses at me , not what its about is it ?

Jibbers take no notice of me, these zone guys are just like you and me,
They are a great bunch of guys who really enjoy meeting like minded people, hence these meets.
You'll get some good ideas on modding and tech help, these guys are great, i was only embarrased about my arches as ive been promising to get them done for ages, ive spent loads getting the interior nice and then the outside of my car was pants, it still is to some degree, but my gosh my cars 16yrs old and driven everyday.
Just remember, its not a car show as such, ive been to lots of meets and some of the guys dont wash their cars, they just go to meet other E30 enthusiasts, like you and me.
I remember my first meet (when i was in the war, here we go), it was a midlands meet, i spent all Sunday morning washing, waxing ect....drove to the meet, pulled on the car park, lost my bottle and drove off home.
I was gutted, my confidence got the better of me.
BUT NOW !!!!!!!!!!!!.......you cant stop me going to em, nothing to be nervous about, you'll always meet someone there who's also at there first meet, wich will put you at ease.
Get yourself down/up east west to Taunton, youll love it.

Embarrased or nervous about first meets? You need not to be,doesn't matter even if you were to turn up in a car with more rust than good metal, its an E30,thats the important thing!

Or they are just mega low milage motors .
Thats it , im going on Sunday and hope to meet some of you there .

being partly pissed i shall ramble on. I was nervous at my first meet but it was a bmw coupe meet (snotty 6 & 8 series chaps, don't u know) And now i am what i would call a pest at E30 meets. Everyone is the same regardless of your chariot.

Its always good to meet new guys as the same old faces wear thin Dave,Demlot,Karan,Wil,Splondike, Pacerpete!!!!

Dave,

How much longer are you around ?

I should get most of the kit back on this week as long as the weather holds out. I need to get a new battery as well. My current one was only about 6 months old, but it didn't like sitting unused for over three months. I've had it on charge for days now, and it won't hold more than 11 volts :cursin:

Lastly, I need to get it MOT'd, as it expired while in the bodyshop. At least it won't fail on rust

Cheers,

Ian.

Simon,

I don't think I'll have it quite ready for the 18th, but it would be excellent if you could drop in on the way past. I'm only about 4 miles from the A23, so it's not far out of your way :flower:

I've actually priced up a new one from the dealer, and it's not 'quite' as expensive as I though. They will let me have it for just under Ԛ£300 which includes all the fittings etc. It's listed at over Ԛ£500 on my ETK :clin:

Cheers,

Ian.
