As in the below flyer...

Image

It is at an Airfield in westest Wales, with absoloutely loads of space. We have allocated a pretty interesting time trial course, as well as a 1/4m drag strip. This is along side the main event of the weekend which is DRIFTING!

If anybody wants to come down and spectate you are more than welcome, there will be a few e30s doing the rounds on the drift circuit and possibly the time attack already.

Log onto the url in the flier and put down your deposit if you are interested. There are a lot of people from England in attendance so convoys and frollicks are sure to ensue! Free camping with DJ too,a good excuse for a chilled out pissed up weekend even if you're not driving!

As I was led to believe you have a pace car lap of part of the test track... not heard any mention of top speed runs.

Gaydon... Ha.

This is for people who want to actually drive their e30s, both in an abusive off-road manner be it drag/time trial/drift, or just the country lane convoy on the way there :D

If you are a typical e30zone gayer then don't in any way feel like I am trying to pry you away from talking about your full tool kit or genuine aplinas.

Does my car look like its got 'genuine alpina's?!'

I fitted the recaros rollbars, 5 lug and S50 so it was that much more satisfying to sit and polish my wheels..

So if you went to all that trouble, why don't you use it properly? And I dont mean the odd arse out moment on a roundabout in the rain and hitting three figures on a motorway every now and then, I mean track abuse.

Its just there is two people attending on the website, thought it must have been a carpark meet.

Munky you seem a little stressed today with your replys. Perhaps Dazleeds can sort you something out? :rasta:

last time I checked on driftworks there were about 25 cars paid up and attending.

Havent looked at the website though.

To be honest the fewer the better, more track time that way. Its not a 'show', there wont be any polishing and posturing or prizes for most shiny car.

Just tyre smoke, burnt meat, beer and tunes.

I'm in a grand mood today, just think its a bit sad that anything thats not bmwcc organised or on a recognised track gets written off as just another krooze by ignorant people... like you

Looks pretty good. As far as I know its an active airfield so not going to be the usual worn out battered tarmac and concrete.

Nobody said you didnt... but from the responses to this event it seems you're not that inclined to use it on track days, preferring shows.

Apologies if I'm wrong.

Sorry Jhonno wasn't aiming my alpinas comment to you, look like BBS? lol. Just in the general e30zone user.

Some of our posts seem confrontational, sorry about that lol we just want to get people to ENJOY driving there cars.

Karan - surface looks really good, only a couple of areas have that blocked concrete, most of it is sexy smooth tarmac. I have been to a lot of drift days, and this one is making me very excited indeed, there is shit loads of space, we should have 3 drift tracks ranging from balls out full speed entries using a service road onto runway then back off another service road and back onto the runway etc, should be 3rd gear easily (not attended, but I helped design the courses), and other drift tracks for more simple "conventional" 2nd, maybe 3rd gear looped circuits out of the way for constant tyre abuse. Then another technical track which I beleive will throw up some layouts people havn't encountered in the UK before, double apex squared bends, tight left/rights, and many speed changes. Then we also have room for a beginners figure of 8 and a big donut/roundabout style area for people needing to get used to their cars or gain confidence on track before heading out onto the good stuff :D

That is also not including the time attack course, which involves some tight turns and hairpins into long winding narrowish service roads in a loop, this will be good fun for all including drifters wanting to test themselves a bit more in a grippy way for a change.

And obviously the drag strip for all involved! Get down some practice runs then see what time you can get, should be interesting as we have cars coming from a lot of different places in all different shapes/sizes/capacities.

Best bit about it? It is dirt cheap, 2 FULL DAYS, free camping, DJ, burger vans, beer, it just all makes sense!
