Fitting Rear Headrest In Tourer.......

Hi there everybody and anybody i have just bought a pair of headrests for my touring which i want to put in the back does anybody know how to do this i had brackets with them but dont think they will do cos tryed screwing them to the seats but when i put the seats up my luggage cover thingy keeps flying off really spinning me out do i need to make holes in the top of my seats or is there another way

Any help will be much apreciated

Putting rear headrests into a touring is easy. All you've got to do is take the seat back cushion off, it's only clipped on, and you will see the tubes already in place on the seatbacks. You'll need the plastic inserts to go in the tubes, which you might have on the brackets you've got and these will allow the headrest to adjust to different heights. All you need to do then is make some holes on the top of the seat cushions, fit the black finishing rings to tidy up the holes, put the seat back together and slot the headrests into place, job done!

Were the headrests you bought specifically for the back seats of a touring or a saloon? The fixing bits are different.
The fixings for a touring rear seat are the same as for a front seat, so are readily available from scrap, worn out front seats.

Cheers guys will have to take a look at the backs not sure how they come off and not sure bout the brackets proby of a saloon cos i cant see how they would fix onto a tourers seat got them off E-gay so could be anything

To remove seat backs, tip the seat base forwards out of the way and then slide your fingers under the bottom of the seat back and pull forwards. The back will unclip, then slide upwards to remove.
Don't touch the back (luggage) side of the seats.
Don't get blood on the fabric when you nick your fingers on the clips.

Cheers for the advice i have put the headrests on and they look sweet had a bit of trouble with the plastic rings that go on top of the seat to cover the holes (they kept popping out really got on my nerves) but think i have got that sorted now also got a feckin' huge cut running down the side of my hand where i caught it on the seat back managed to keep the blood off the cloth though just got it all on my trousers

All it requires is patience and a pint to cool yourself down if you're starting to get annoyed

Just managed to fit some headrests in a tourer with the help of this post and guess what, no blood lost!
