I've just bought a new set of clips to put my iS lip spoiler back on since most of the old clips are broken.

But how do i go about removing the old clips (without taking the valance off!) They're on solid at the moment, and i can't see myself being able to push the pins back down to loosen them...

Cheers for any advice :)

You need to push the round plastic pins upwards and out of the top, the clip then comes off.

push the pins through from bottom of car upwards then slide them off

Either that or a good strong flat blade screwdriver and break them off

Cheers!! So easy when you know how :D

Old ones off in moments, but 3 of the new ones seem to have a pin that won't go in :? Going to have a play with them now and see if they loosen up, then my newly painted spoiler can go back on after a year off.... I think it may show up just how badly chipped my valance is though!

I'm looking to replace these clips on my 318is too - where did you get yours from? My nearest dealer is a fair drive away, so I'd like to mail order them if possible. Anyone know of a good mail order service where I can get genuine BMW spares like these? I've previously used Motormec for my E24 spares, but they don't seem too keen on answering the phone or replying to emails this week. Probably on holiday or something.

Many thanks,

I took mine off with a hammer and chisel.

I would have thought that all you had to do in order to remove your lip spoiler would be 'drive' :)

I'm sure Zimmerbimmer1 would be able to help. The clips are peanuts - my dealer had them in stock and were £3.88 for 10 inc the vat!

And you don't surprise me munky!

My dealer ordered these in, took about 2 days (even had a nice text message saying "your parts have arrived sir")- cost bugger all for a pack of ten. Surely the dealer would post them for you if you paid by card on the phone.

Still on a week later. :D

It scrapes on the odd speedbump but only a touch and only on the bottom.

ps, I was removing the clips so I could cable tie this one on (cheap replica)

best bit about black lip is that is doesn't show when it's scraped through the paint :)
