The electric sunroof in my tourer sometimes needs a helping hand when closing from the fully open position, and sometimes to open on the tilt and slide. Does anyone else have this problem? Anyway to make it work every time as it should?
Mine need a little persuasion for the back end to drop down and then move back the first inch. and then the same again when i close it.
I just haven't got round to greasing it. I reckon the seal has a part to play as well though.

Mine does this too and I think the seal is partly to blame.
Was there not a thread ages ago about a one piece rubber replacement seal? I've tried a search for it but couldn't find the thread. Does anybody know if these are available from BMW and if so what the part no is?
Taylor.

Is it the sunroof that scares you master Yoda or the sun itself??JohnnyThunders wrote:Sunroof scared of i am. Minimal use sees it.

I thought a new seal would be £25 tops.
Only problem with mine is that sometimes when sliding it, it gets stuck moving down - a quick jab on the other button frees it with a satisfying thunk, and then it'll slide back

I treated the seal with Vaseline - sunroof wouldn't open, but it does now!
