Heres a couple of pics of the 318, with its new springs fitted, and powersprint exhaust, plus the omp seats are in. Thanks to everyone that gave me advice :D

v nice. top notch. exactly what i hope to do one day in the next year or two with the same car.

318iS=best e30 behind m3. (would choose over a 325i, and yes, i have had 4)

hahaha The tar is a fricking knightmare, I'm saving that job for when the missus leaves me, and I have nothing better to do.

I like the engine, I've had a 325 and i miss the noise and the torque, But once its wound up its great, cant help but feel it feels a wee bit fragile though at times

The tar is not problem with the right tools!!

Buy a heat gun and a 1.5" wood chisel from toolstation and you'll have all the sound deadening up in half a day.
Then buy a can of Nitromors (or any other Hardcore paintstripper) and some white spirit. That'll get the nasty adhesive off in no time.

I've just recently taken my car back to bare metal throughout and now its all in grey primer. Looks very touring car!

Not the most fun job but definitely worth the effort, that stuff weighs a shed load./

I wouldn't like to guess.
Also, it was an e21 and I don't know how the amount of sound deadening compares to an e30. It was nearly two carrier bags full though and they made quite a thud hitting the bottom of the wheelie bin!
