I know this car quite well, only to look at and chat to the guy that owns it in the gym where i train. To cut a long story short it for sale at the right money and i am very keen to buy it and sell my own.I had a good look round her after training and rang si off the zone.
Spec is as follows.
MACOU BLUE 325i ELECTRIC BLACK HOOD.
GENUINE ALPINA ALLOYS
TAN LEATHER WITH REAR HEADS[LIKE NEW]
2 COMPUTERS
2 ALARMS
ALPINE CD PLAYER.
FULL FACTORY MTEC KIT.
MTEC SUSPENSION [ADJUSTABLE]
DECHROMED
PRIVATE PLATE.H REG I THINK.
FULL HISTORY 107 MILES ON CLOCK.
M TEC SILL COVER GENUINE [IF THERE IS SUCH A THING]
I am not sure but i think it could be a motorsport si says the colour might make it a motorsport.
The car is in very nice condition but not perfect it got a slash in the roof he has patched it as best he could.I am very serious about buying this car so can anybody that know about motorsport convertible shed some light.

Cheers

Tan leather interiors ? Don't think so. Should have been either Lotus White, Black, or M-Tech Bubble leather.

There is only 1 On-Board Computer - the one in the dash, the 2nd one on the roof is simply a Check Control Panel.

Electric hood was thrown in towards the end of the E30 era by BMW, simply because they wanted to get rid of the E30s and bring in the E36 into showrooms everywhere, so Electric hood is not a good indication either.

M-Tech suspension was standard. However, adjustable ??? Nope, that means it's not.

M-Tech sill cover is again something which was originally planned to be exclusive to the Motorsport Edition convertibles, but later on was just thrown in by BMW to help a sale.

And most importantly, Macau Blue is not an exclusive Motorsport Edition colour - the only colour to have that distinction is Sebring Grey.

I have seen Calypso Red 318i, Macau and Mauritius Blue 320 and 325i.

Your only 100% guarantee whether this car is a genuine Motorsport Edition or not, will be to get the Registration details, and the last 7 characters of the Chassis/VIN number and contact BMW Customer Services, and ask them to check the Vehicle Inquiry screen for the Motorsport Edition code for this car (think it's code 798 or 768).

Hope this makes things a bit more clearer.

Silver, but looks more sort of light grey.

Very few did, as it was an option, which most people did not use. I suspect it might have been so because of it did not look that good compared to the Black or Lotus White leather options ?

But, it was an option later on I believe, on certain models only, as it was certainly not available on my car.

Ryan they came with Blue roofs on the Macau. Most probably a new roof and interior if its a genuine Motorsport.

Ill have a look for you if you want Ryan.

Ryan,

This is the lined boot lid

Image

My advice is buy the car!. Check with BMW. But I would buy it anyway. They put nothing on the V5 to indicate a Motorsport convertible.

Are the door cards tan. The reason I ask is because the bubble was marked. Even the cards were marked. And they even put a label under the rear seats indicating what number it is, mine is 242 of 250.

The boot lid is the same as yours, the leather is tan and the vinyle door cards.
It got an mtec gear knob, mtec sill plates [protectors].
On the kit just below the indicators it got a small mtec badge on both sides.

Cheers

Its genuine guys, been messed with a bit because it was supposed to have come with silver leather but it now has tan maybe the silver seats where in bad shape.
I phoned williams this morning and they said it was a 325i motorsport edtion.
I phoned vines the bmw plates that is on the car and they where very helpful said it was a 325i convertible with the motorsport pack incl wheels spoilers seats etc so thats to dealer that have said its a motorsport.
I am buying the car now hopefully getting mine back in the morning,so if anybody want a 325i convertible with trouble free motoring and no nasty suprizes get in touch as a quick sale is needed.

Ryan,

Result!. Big time. Get the leather retrimmed replace the wing mirrors. Keep the wheels, what wheel is the spare?. You could put it back to standard and honestly double your money.

Is it manual or Auto?.

Cheers Gareth.

Ryan,

You have got an absolute bargin trust me. Whats the condition of the body work?. The gentleman you are buying the car from has no idea what he is selling. What with the wheels as well.

M3 replica mirrors , Im more your traditionalist/ standard sort of E30 bloke as most zoners would testify too.

These cars are rare, and it being manual makes it even rarer/more desirable.

Have a good read through the history, I went to look at one not so long ago up in Blackpool, it had a front and rear end , no working or any hood to speak off. And he wanted more for his.

Hand over your deposit, because it is a steal!

Cheers Gareth.

Well guys i went to pick my convertible up this morning asked but i asked peter the owner about a noice on my IS so he stuck it on the ramp and had a good look at the car it was a loose braket sorted now.I then asked him about a possible buyer for my convertible as i was thinking of buying a motorsport. To cut a long story short i took a test drive on the motorsport and the owner let me take it to my bmw specilist. The car has a clean bill of health aside from a noisey diff that would cost Ԛ£300 to get fixed. No rust weilding or accident damage perfect car plus the owner has knocked Ԛ£300 of the asking price.
I am selling my IS now as well as my convertible let me know before they go on fleabay. :D

Well i have put my deposit down on the convertible,so its mine now found out aliile bit more today. Its got green tinted glass and the hood is dark blue.
The only things that are not orginal are the 16"alpina alloys plus the lowering adjustable suspension and the colour of the seats.
I also checked if the electric hood worked okay its amazing how it works. Is there any maintains that can be done to keep em working.

I also told my mate that i was selling my IS and convertible because he is a mate i told him Ԛ£600 that was on saterday as i was keen to get the ball rolling on my new convertible.I got a phone call from him tonight and he has got the money and wants to know when he can pick her up.
MY HEART BROKE i feel like i am connected to my little IS am i doing the right thing here selling to cars to buy 1 am i mad.The only thing on the IS is the miles but othere then that she like a new car.
Please somebody buy my 325i convertible you just can not go wrong all you have to do is drive and enjoy.Save me from selling my IS.
