Afternoon all,
I am currently selling my 2.8 Z3 which is a second car (my girlfriend has the main car, and I don't use one day to day) - baby on the way means that I need something with boot space, and ability to have baby seat plus second seat for adult!
Ideally I would like to free a few quid up (althought this is not critical) - and my requirements in order are:
space as above
reliable and dependable if not used for a week or 2 (mostly short journeys anway - about 4k a year)
RWD & LSD
similar power to weight (or more!) as the Z3
small, and nimble as lots of twisty roads to be enjoyed
possible trackday use
Now, I have always loved the E30 325i sport, but never driven one. I would be keen on a mint standard one, or one that has been modified (even different engine) as long as it has been done right. But I am more interested in driving than tinkering!!!! I have had a couple of E36 328is but fancy something a bit different.
Firstly would the E30 fit this bill, and although a sport would be nice can i get another 2.5 or bigger 6 pot with LSD? Anybody driven E36 328 and E30 325 that knows if there is much of a power difference? Also any long term owners that can advise if I am better looking for a lavished upon higher priced E30 that won't need work every 3 months, rather than something cheap that will cause me no end of grief?
Sorry for the long post, also a long shot, but if anyone would be interested in a sorted Z3 PM me to discuss possibility of a P/X.
Thanks!!!!
Advice appreciated from hardcore BMW nuts!

E30 325i sport is good idea to free up some Ԛ£Ã”šÃ‚£Ãƒ”šÃ‚£ - i recommend you buy an e30 M3 tho as they can be had for not much moreԚ£Ã”šÃ‚£ than a mint sport and they are SO much better, performace, juice, handling, looks ...should i go on!
on the performance stakes a 328i is lots faster than a E30 325 - just not as nimble - I've had 2 328is and 5 E30s from sport to cab to M3 with 3.5 M30 engine in. Only the M3 was equally as fast as a standard 328i.
Hope this helps.

Thanks Andrew - I love the boxy arched look of the E30 M3, but could not live with a left hand drive car!
This was what pushed me to the G60 and then VR6 corrado over the G60 and Rallye Golfs.
Anyone got a converted E30 M3 in right hand drive up for sale?
