I want to get a in-car dvd, u know with the pop out screen!

Whos got one, and whats a good one to go for?
Also on a budget, does anyone know anyone who got one?

And i heard you would need to move it over, as the screen would interfere
with the indicator stalk

thanks

you would need to get panel from a left hand drive so it moves clock to right and player to left.

You can buy a good old model Alpine one for about Ԛ£500 or so. I just fitted mine without changing the panel. All i do when the screen comes out is flick my indicator stalk.

I've got a boot mounted DVD player which cost Ԛ£100, Got my screen with loads of other kit dirt cheap, so can't really recommend which to go for.

I swapped my clock round as i couldn't get the screnn out no matter what. The LHD drive panel isn't a great fit TBH, still needs quite a lot of work.

What's the hassle with the LHD panel?

Isn't it just a case of unwrapping the radio and OBC looms to get a bit more slack?

e30bemer: the screen is a Pioneers AVX-7000, it is only a fold away screen, there is a processor in the boot that has the radio receiver built into it, it also has a disc changer and the DVD player, speaker wires and anything else you might want to add to the system. The DVD player was dead easy to fit, just screwed into the underside of the parcelshelf and only had one wire to run to the front of the car for the remote sensor, everything else just plugged into the processor.

cros: there isn't a problem with the wiring infact theres more room with the OBC on the other side. The actual panel doesn't fit proparly as the LHD panel is a slightly different shape. Not only have the OBC and stereo slots been swapped around but the screw fixings and the cutout where the panel slots under the panel thats under the instrument cluster..

Will proabably be easier to get a screen with a built in DVD player TBH i just got offered a load of stuff and snapped it up.

There is a remote lead, data cable and power running from the processor to the screen. But the processor plugs into the connector blocks that a normal stereo would, so there is wires running from behind the dash to the boot and then coming back, meaning sh*te loads of wires (doesn't help that my front speakers are amped and have crossovers under the center console).

I've been lucky in the fact i was able to remove everything from the car before i fitted it to mine so i knew whee everything went and managed to keep it as one big loom, definately wouldn't want oto do it from scatch so would reccomend buying an all in one unit as i reckon this would be just like putting in a normal headunit.
