Hi All

I recently bought this fire extinguisher

Image

I understand it goes under either front seat so, I had a go at installing it yesterday, but I couldn't fathom out where it would fit ??

I was pulling my hair out, so I've did some searching on the Forum to help me along & the thing that confuses me is that theres a thread discussing the bracket required for installation & it's a curved bracket but mine is straight.

Can someone advise me, where & how it should be fitted on the car.

Thanks,
Matt.

There is part of the bracket missing in your picture....

The curved part of the bracket (which is metal) bolts to the bottom of the drivers seat front edge. The plastic part of the bracket as in your picture then bolts to the metal bracket.

Hopefully someone will come along soon with a spare metal bracket for you!

As Mark says your missing part of the bracket.
See my pic below and you will see the bit you are missing bolted to the part you have.
This is probably rarer than the extingusiher itself as is often left attached to the seat when the extinguisher is removed.

I have 3..
Well 4 if you count the one that the fire extinguisher is attached to on the drivers seat.
Then I have another one on the passenger seat and two more on the other car without a fire extinguisher... Not sure if the 316i-lux had them, never checked.
I was thinking every sport seat had them :o

When I got mine it came without the curved seat bracket. I drilled the plate the actual extinguiser is fitted to, drilling the holes corresponding with some holes in the sport seat frame. It worked well enough until I was lucky to find a complete bracket assembly in the breakers.
