Short for Linda Lovelace.

Also 'the alleged vehicle', from a poorly-worded police statement....

why do people name cars, its a car, either call it by its designation from the factory (i.e. the 325 or the m3 or whatever) or call it the car
I was racking my brains trying to think if i have ever called some machinery by a name and apart from the obvious curse line i have to agree with you, i just say "the car" or "the BMW" (shying away from the Picasso though :o: )

I am guilty of applying relevant words for the letters of the registrations on cars i own.. Old e30 was KJF i applied a mis-spelt Kan Johnny fly?

As a personal bonus to me the 325's reg is appropriate to me and my Missus' initials in real life which is awesome (HJH) stands for Heather and Johnny H***** our name! :)

Mines called the Tourer cause thats what it is.

I have owned over 30 cars and can only think of 3 that had names. They were cars that just kinda developed names.

We're not as friendly in my house, no names assigned, we just have the "red one" (88 325iturbo) which is my weekend fun, the "white one" (91 316) which is the daily workhouse and the "black one" ( 90 318i) which is the mrs daily ride.

I have been through the same agro if not much more with my red one and over it's time it's had many temporary names, such as "the gasket eater" and the "the blown up one in the garage" but as it's running and working fine now, it's now the "beast" which I feel suits the car very well.

I'd love a in car cam in the cars I've pasted recently, I bet they had a few names for my car winkeye

Rpbably thinks like "what the **** was that" or "what in the name of hell is pushing that" or "I hope by christ I have my handbrake on!"

My cars evolve names after time based on personality at the moment its the "dirty e30 slaaaag".

Nae idea Fella. The car was in Inverness for ages then came to Thurso where I was lucky enough to snap her up. Saying that, I remember a red Tech II touring when I lived in Aberdeen a good few years ago. Could be the same one maybe ? Anyway, she's mine now har har !!!

Come one, guys! Get real! All those that think naming your car is girlie or gay. All aircraft and ships have names, and are never referred to as just ship or plane by the crews. I bet it wasn't a girlie girl who named Titanic (sorry ladies, no offense intended). winkeye

I thought aircraft had numbers, thats why those fellas in greece got done for "plane spotting"

Boats are different, they have girly names for a reason, it makes sinking not sound so bad....

"What happened to you, your'e soaking?"

"Well I just spent the day in peggy-sue and she went down on me"

"niiiice"

doesnt have the same ring to it if its called alfred-basil 8O

Currently it's called 'my ******* broken POS car'. Normally it's 'the bmw' or 'the e30'. Imaginative hey?!
Han has actually named both my cars (and hers obviously). And all of my pushbikes.

Rog - you'd like my Caddy now! Just fitted a mk2 golf centre console - now it's got 2 ashtrays & 2 lighters

Aircraft have serial numbers for sure, but the pilots have names for their charges. I'm talking military aircraft, like those during WW2 with all that great nose-art!

My cab is known as "the babe" and the tourer is either "dogmobile" or "shopping trolley".

You may be able to guess what conditions they are in .....

Hey bigpimpin, enjoyed viewing your site. That Touring is awesome! I want mine to look just like that. Unfortunately I can't afford to buy yours :( Is that a standard blue? It doesn't look it to me. It's a very classy-looking, modded BM. :D
