Got some new guages from e-bay and they have turned up and they are card with a black backing. Might be missing something here but how is the light meant to get through card with a black backing?

Actually e30 gauges are back and forward lit. The stock faces are a semi transparent milky white. They let light under them, and it comes through the white numbers and lines etc.
Paper face gauges suck. I would ask for your money back. I've tried several different style self made paper ones, and the lighting just sucks.
