Has anyone used this turbo kit that i've seen on ebay? Seems pretty cheap!
What modifications do you think would be required to the M20 325 engine to run this system?
Also what bhp is likely to be produced?

Cheers

Looks good but that all gets covered by Exhaust Wrap - Also if i think its left hand drive.

well to be honest that pretty much looks the same as my one and i think its the dogs bollox, flows really well and all equal length tubing aswell, but a bit of a pain in the arse when it comes to routing the exhaust cus these manifolds are designed for LHD card so space to run the down pipe is tight cus of the steering coupling, and you will have trouble with the oil filter mounting also as is fouls even if u have a remote filter sandwitth plate, so a few delicate taps with the hammer is required.

There are two types of that manifold known, Fowler has an original, the other Ant has is a cheap copy, Kevin, I don't know which you have? and pics?

One is made well with equal lengthish runners and a good wall thickness, the other is a copy that isn't equal length or made well and is constructed from very thin and cheap steel.

There are poss a few other copies about but they all have the same issues, lack of space and oil filter location woes.

It's a big manifold and I would imagine downpipe location is a proper PITA, mines not very good but I managed to get a 3inch pipe down there so there's just enough room if you know what I mean.

My next one's gonna be home made again, got all the flanges, bends and pipe work, so just working out and welding to do!

Top mount or bottom mount....hmmmmm.......decisions decisions!

P.s. I bet lots of money that kit will still need other bits buying in to get it too work, my advice is to start a list, get everyone input and buy the right bits first time, with all of us whom have already been through the R&D, we can save you all time, effort and money.

TRUST ME THAT MANIFOLD IS DOG EXCREMENT. PISS THIN CRAP FROM TAIWAN.
I tell thee that all kits like that are plop
just spend the money and do it properly why spend loads of money on ebay tat then strap it to a perfectly good engine and BLOW it up
your money not mine. IMHO

the reason it is cheap is

it is running wet float bearing which in a six pot engine wont spoll up untill about 3500 rpm which is not the best for your car you want to get hold of a dual bearing turbo buy the manifold seperate but the customising side is where the money is for the cooling and intercooler as ive done my e30 318is sets me in at about £8000 at the mo

isnt the turbo to small for the m20 6 pot?.its basically the same size turbo that im running on my 4 pot.a garret t34 with .48 and .63 housings.it spins up at 1400rpm.

How about the manifold from a 324td
Would that be sufficient??
With the appropriate modification of course!

dont spend any money till u speak to ant mate i was gonna get one and it was soft shit wont last 5 mins mate might not bet the same but id ask u can get a kit for about $400 and u get all that but the turbo now the manifold might be crap but it might be worth it for the intercooler and the charge pipeing just an idea

yeah fozzy it is equal length, but the metal is quite thin but i havent had any trouble with it, no warping twisting or any leaks or craks, maybe i was just lucky.

and the choice of the turbo for your car is entirely a personal choice to be honest cus ive got a t3 on mine and i think its done well, very good repspone and acceleration, but bottles a bit on high revs
