Plan on leaving Bournmouth at around 6-7 depends on the time I get back, don't finish work (If I'm lucky) till 2.30 and then gotta get back to Bmouth which is normally 3.5 hour drive so its all dependant and depends on traffic my boss, and the bloody weather.

If I can't get away earl ish I will head down saturday morning.

To be honest mate, if I was in your shoes, I'd be popping down Saturday morning. Otherwise that is a fair old misison to do in 1 hit. Unless you're happy with those sort of road trips!!

Seems Sat will be the worst day weather wise, as it stands. Forecasts will get slightly more accurate closer to the time, but there's no avoiding the low pressure which will be over England by close of play Sunday. The weather will not be great, Saturday at the mo, will have rain. But it wont be the extreme weather England has had up country so far. In Yeovil, we've had a few heavy showers and that's it. No flooding. Shows how regionalised our weather really can be.

There's a nice big high pressure to the South (good weather), so hopefully Cornwall may benefit from the outer edges while we're there.

Is there any chance of doing a shuttle run to Bournemouth mid week, and then coming direct from Wales On Friday? Just trying to think outside of the box. Although that will be a greater fuel cost. Don't feel an impending back pain kicking in Thursday, causing you to leave work then?? winkeye

Dude I'm not sure if your trying to convince me or put me off!

I will have to see what forecast and traffic is later in the week. And being one of the bosses myself (albeit on a self employed basis) its not good form to leave early especially when you are trying to get a good reference and money out of them. :D

I'm not trying to do either really!! I'd like for you to be there, the more the merrier, I just don't want you to have any false expectations about the weather. Traffic will be fine, the weather and the fact it's not yet Summer Hols for the kiddy winks will see to that.

Can't you flexi time it and make it up over the following week? You're the boss!!!!

I'm the only key holder in on Friday so need to leave after everyone else, luckliy we work half day on friday anyway, just gotta hope no ones on over time, I could leave the keys behind but its a ball ache then if we have a break in or they go missing or the person I leave them with is late on monday and doesn't open up in time.

I have the warehouse and office keys, office staff start an hour and a half after warehouse staff but finish later too, so its all a PITA.

I will see what happens, hopefully will make it as I bought the tent especially.

Cool. You not have a subordinate to leave the keys with? Keys used to be the baine of my life at the bank. Their handling takes planning, there has to be someone you can leave them with!!

BBC Weather sucks. Watch the pressure charts over the Atlantic (Click Cotty Pressure System in earlier threads).

www.accuweather.com is good, click UK and Ireland and enter the location.

I just want people to realise that if they make the effort to show, it's not the weather that'll make or break it, but the personalities of those attending. It will be a laugh, there are good people going!!!

Ok but whatever happens would be a laugh to have another even like this later in the year too!

I am hoping I won't need:

but its always a good laugh to use when theres a storm in progress!

Cool Link!!

I used to go twice a year, once in June, once the week before August Bank Holiday, again to avoid traffic. Tends to Haemorrage money doing it twice!!

Plus I want to go to London at the end of Summer.

Mate, it'll be great, get your arse down there asap and join in the fun. Be a hero!

That's the plan for Saturday night!!!

If you are out of pocket, can that money be transferred to your karting session?

Weather early evening was beautiful here, still is infact.

It;s going to be on and off until Sunday, when the low sets in, me thinks!!

You're staying on site though right??

I'll be down anyway, regardless, as will cookie325i, so that's 3 cars.
The dirty diesel E36 wrongness will turn up on Saturday, though I'm still tryin to convince him to come down on the Friday.

Lisa and Paul (cookie325) have booked a B&B for the weekend, may end up doing the same if it's raining... enjoy the days and evenings with the multitude, then off to a warm dry bed for the nights.

I think their B&B is fully booked though, can someone sort a few B&B numbers - nearer the site the better please - just in case it's particularly sh*tty, wet and windy? Cheaper the better obviously.

I've not de-stickered my car yet, or fixed my exhaust for that matter. :? Still planning to come, but might wuss out if it looks too bloody miserable. John & Clare won't be able to (no chalets available), but me & Han should.
I've still got my sticker's on winkeye I'm defo coming along with one mate, rain or shine! There's alway's a dry pub to sit in and a strip club so i'm told  I'm sure we can make it a laugh :thumb:

I've heard the weather in Newquay is going to be pretty good on Friday.. I plan on getting down there and getting the tent up asap and sod the weather!

Granted its almost guaranteed to be raining Saturday, but we're gonna be driving out to lands end and then go carting, so nobodies going to notice a spot of rain, surely?

Come on people.. Lets make it a weekend to remember!

Good lad!!!

I haven't a clue with B&B's, I've always stayed on the camp site!!!!

Just google B&B's in Newquay and make some phone calls.

The predicted gales were a bit of panic really. The predicted windseed for the weekend has dropped again, with Saturday being the wettest day.

The low pressure is definately sweeping further south but the isobars are not so tightly packed. Weather just wont be beach weather!!

Also check B&B's in Porth.

As long as we have somewhere to get out of the weather Nathan. All we're asking mate.

Dunno about the rest, but don't fancy sitting in a thick muddy field, soaking wet and cold...
If the weather turns, we COULD sleep in the Touring with the back seats down, - me and the wife that is, not me and you... Just thinking ahead in case she gets funny about that plan...

See you 1.30 to 2 at Exeter Services, Friday. Hope it's at least dry to get the tents up...

what are the campsite owners thoughts on people turning up on the saturday, just for the day?

Will I have to park outside and walk in or will they be ok with people turning up and driving in?

dunno. what time's the karting? If we're going to do the drive before then we need to work out how long that will take so we can get back in time for the karting... I can get there anytime tbh.

Yeah, the windspeeds estimate has halved, the isobars are spreading out, the low pressure is running out of steam.

Camping it is!!

yep karting is now 4.00pm, plenty of time for a bimble around cornwall if we all get up arund 11.00am winkeye

i will be staying on site but will be a bit late friday as im workin, so was just gonna turn up, pay and sleep on my back seat, at least it will be dry and i wont have to put a tent up :D

will check karting in wet tomorrow, i have to give them a final number moro anyway, unfortunaley this is 7 at mo, im not too worried about the £30 tbh as i'll only be spending about a £5 on fuel to get there winkeye

i know a fair few people in newquay on sat night and one of my best mates sisters lives in porth so ill try and subtly suggest a house party winkeye

will still be a laff even if weather sucks, once your wet, your wet, in my opinion the beach in the rain is one of my fav things( im wierd like that)

see you all soon :D

Still hoping to camp

The tight b'stards only rent the things by the week, still maybe if they're empty they'd rather have SOMETHING for them than nothing... Worth a try, but probably not till we get there...

right you bunch of rain-shy pansies. I'm coming down on the friday, meeting at exeter as planned.

Not staying saturday night but will be there for the day.

I'll be sleeping in the touring, nice and warm, if a bit exposed to andyboys pervy prying eyes with all those windows and just a duvet or two to protect me.

You fecking dogging deviant, you're hoping Andyboy will look in at you playing 'tents'!!

Really glad you can make it mate!!!

The weather wont be that bad, the windspeeds are half what they were predicted to be earlier in the week, even though the low looks worse than it did yesterday.

Fecking statics are human sardine tins and only good for collecting farts.

Buy some seam sealant from millets and be done with it

Andy's top tip;

Leave all your duvets and stuff in the car until the last minute. If you leave them in the tent - even on a warm day - they attract moisture like flies to shit.

Or Pacerpete to young boys. Etc etc etc.

I'm going to be online all evening as I pack, should anyone need to contact me. Can someone bring a mallet with them? I'll try to remember my hammer but mallets are better.

Saturday looks to be a wet one. I suggest getting up, having some brekkie and look to hit a road trip by midday, pending the Saturday people arriving in time.

If anyone is not going now, can they let me know here please??

I don't want to sit about in Exeter waiting all afternoon for someone to show that conveniently forgot to let the rest of us know, bad form.

Chris, my back is still giving me grief. Pops some ibuprofen and have done with it winkeye

Oh, last chance to get my mobile numer, pm me your mobile number...
