750i caliper brackets -GROUP BUY!
Moderator: martauto
Its not dangerous, The disc is not going to turn or fall off as it will have the wheel bolted to it.jeremy wrote:but in the first pic two holes looks very tight, looks a bit dangerous
I have seen one that has just had 1 hole drilled as there are 3 holes that will line up but if you drill it so its the same in the pic the holes are spaced apart better.

Guys just buy the tested and proven brackets from 300mm.de they are also TUV approved, doesnt that count for anything?
yes and you have to make sure the correct steel/metal is used, cant go using any old bit.Demlotcrew wrote:Guys just buy the tested and proven brackets from 300mm.de they are also TUV approved, doesnt that count for anything?

Hi all, have sent a message to tino at 300mm.de for 15 sets here is the reply.
Hello Dave,
i have calculate. here my offer with the best prices:
15 x set of discs 312x25
15 x set of adapters 312/2
normal price for discs: 15*298 = 4.470 EUR, your price: 3400,00 EUR
normal price for adaptes: 15* 198 = 2.970 EUR, your price: 2400,00 EUR
So you pay in sum 5800 EUR and not 7.440,00 EUR
additional comes the shipping. i have no idea, how much cost shipping 150kg to UK
bye tino
.......................................................................................
this equates to
£2289 /15 = £152 for the disks
£1616 /15 = £107 for adaptors
+ postage ?

Correct, but even more importantly is to make sure they are manufactured correctly.ed325i wrote:yes and you have to make sure the correct steel/metal is used, cant go using any old bit.
The obvious choice is laser cutting for the initial profiling, but the massive heat build up in the steel caused by this process is far from ideal when considering the application.
I would be willing to take on the manufacture of these items if the interest is still there, but can assure you zero heat stress in the metal because I would get them waterjet cut (more expensive, but if it is the preferred choice of profiling for the aviation industry, then it should be good enough for our E30's....)
Let me know if you want me to chase this up?
Ant - do you mind me looking into this??
Anyone with a template or spare bracket they are not using??
Regards,
Bruce.

I'm guessing the above deal with tino is not what people are looking for.

Sorry guys, been meaning to post up.
in the correct materials to get tese watercut and machined locally is runing at just under £117 a set inc Vat, we are short on numbers to go much further.
@ the price TINO has posted, I's suggest that is a way forwards..

Happy for anyone willing to take this on.

Hi all. Just to save hassle.
I'm just going to buy mine from 300mm.de
I have concluded that the TUV approval is a safe bet

Just to clarify. As far as I can read, there is no general TUV approval.oldroydsr4 wrote:Hi all. Just to save hassle.

What is mentioned is that you "can" get them approved by a process called "Einzelabnahme" which means Individual TUV approval, read you need to find a TUV inspector who is willing to inspect YOUR modification and give his personal approval to this modification. Some of these guy's are open minded and willing to inspect and test, others will just have a laugh and send you away.
A general TUV approval is a very very expensive process.
If a manufacturer want to sell parts for cars in Germany he has to apply for a parts certificate from the TUV. You as a buyer will then be able with this certificate to install the parts on your car AND go for another inspection/test to your local TUV to get it finally signed off.
there's something else called "ABE" which makes life a bit more easy, but that's even dearer for the maufacturer and only applied for if 1000's of the parts are sold afterwards to recover the costs.
