SERIOUS PROBLEMS with my chrome rings. Ordered them from Ebay.de and they looked right, sounded right etc. Took them to my garage today (cos i have never taken the instruments out before and didn't fancy fukcing it up) and my man told me that the rings didn't fit, that they were from an e36/z3 etc)Is he right??

They say E30 all over the box and they look right when you hold them up to the glass. Does anyone know how they should fit? Should they fit just on top of the black dial surround or fit within recessed holes ontop of the dials themselves??? AARRRGGGHH!!!!

thanks :thumb:

Some of the instructions say to bend them slightly to pop them through the back of the plastic.

I think it's a better idea to pull the plastic cover off the front by carefully breaking the glue seal round the edge of the cluster and then carefully pulling it off. Don't bend it or it'll snap!!

Then you can do a better job of fitting the dials! It's not too hard to get the cluster out by the way!

Thanks dave i think i might give it a go myself in that case. What's the best way of getting the cluster out. I have't even looked in Hayne's as I'd probably just be told "removal is reverse of fiting" or something helpful like that. Are there any step by steps anywhere? Also if anyone has a copy of instrucitions for installing chrome rings I'd really appreciate some info on that too?? Thanks a lot

Where are you based mate?

Do you have MSN? I could talk you through the basics! I could write it up, but there's bits I'd forget!
