Pull out the 'infill strip' that runs around the windscreen rubber on the outside, then push it out with your hands or feet from inside. They come out remarkably easy!
Getting them back in is another story...

Putting the screen back in the car is also easy - smear of silicon grease all round on the rubber recess and the edge of the glass - no more than five minutes at the most. The hard part (without the proper tool) is getting the locking strip back in.

Can still be done without the proper tool . I did one three weeks ago, but couldn't find the tool, so I resorted to the old method of a couple of small/medium flat blade screwdrivers. Took about twenty minutes to get the strip in.
Biggest danger is to the paintwork if the screwdriver slips. Always work inwards towards the glass.
Been looking to buy a replacement tool, but the only ones I can find is from Frost, at their usual 'premium' prices, or as part of a kit.

same as above! patience, patience, patience! even if it is raining/your dinner's getting cold/lewis is about to kick fernando's ass again! etc etc. replaced my is windscreen with one from a convertible( nice top tint shadeband but exactly HOW DO you get that metal windscreen mounted r.v.mirror fixing off the glass?? adi
p.s. far better to leave the donor and recipient vehicle windscreen surround rubbers alone. just ease out donor windscreen BY HAND from donor vehicle and fit to your existing undisturbed rubber(as described above). hope this helps. i have a rubber surround and infill strip (amongst my shedful of e30/36 spares)if anyone wants it, free to zoners. (adi 07901 888019) also, thanks to all at the new forest meet yesterday,my first meet.what a nice bunch! pps does anyone have that very rare item for the e30 boot that holds an umbrella and a towel?? i think it was fitted to the british models only! for sale: both my convertibles,no only joking, it is wimbledon fortnight after all, what can we expect!
