ok,im still confused. :cry: does anyone know for definate that a e28 528i diff will fit on the end of an e30 m3 prop and sit happily in a e36 318ti rear setup. 8O i think these diffs were 3.25 (correct me if wrong) but were they all slippers?

Yes it will. You need a 325i rear cover and output shafts to fit it. Ratios vary between 3.25 and 3.45 and LSD's are rare.

thanks.well im after a lsd and if the chances are slim :( are there any other options (apart from e30 m3 diff) bearing in mind theres a s50b30 on the other end of it

e28 diffs tend to be a lower ratio than e30's.
