I reckon I can make it for the friday night, only takes an hour or so to get from here to there so I should be able to get there by 7pm ish.

I'll need some VERY good directions though. :o:

Im hoping to have my dads proper gazebo, same one I had at Santa Pod. Once the sides are on and the BBQ fired up should be sheltered and warm. Cold box with food and drink and im sorted for Friday night. Long drive for me.

all depends on the weather tbh mate, cornwall tends to get packed out wih holiday makers and the german coaches really like the windy B-roads

however between munky and me, im sure we can come up with some interesting secret roads winkeye

so yeah, better give her a bottle of smirnoff or something.
oh and if anyone gets lost, follow the signs to lands end as thats were i think we'll be grabbin food(munkys area) :D

Lands end? Made it down there a few years ago in the wifes Mitsi Colt.. Was hoping to get down there to get some pics of the baby.. Looks like I'll be able to, with a load of her friend friends..

Actually mentioned "pictures" and "my baby" to the wife.. Of course I'll get some pics of the young un

I thought sennen as I know a very nice pub there... but tbh parking is a tad limited down there, and lands end has a nice big carpark so is probably a better idea. And better for a photoshoot type thing.

I don't think traffic will be too bad tbh, its 'off season' as its not the school hols so it should be ok... but if its busy I know a few shortcuts winkeye

of course.

The drive wont be lunatic speeds, so family and squids will be fine for it. Personally, I haven't been down to my old hunting ground for a while so I will be abusing the roads a tad, but as an experienced convoy leader I know how to let people catch up.

Sorry to hear you've wimped out munky, I suppose you can't help being scared of the dark and needing your 'blankey':snigger:

My observation of convoys from previous meets is that they can become disjointed and lose people. I suggest finalising a route of sorts on Friday evening, while drinking beer and eating dead stuff.

As Munky and Chris know the roads better than most, once the convoy is underway, either Munky or Chris take the lead, with the other around the midpoint. If anyone has 2 way radios, that would be a huge help. If not, ensure everyone swaps numbers so we can get everyone back. It shouldn't be too taxing, Cornwall has three roads!!

Think the plan of campsite beer and a night out on Saturday will be good. Just be considerate to your Sunday morning, I think those leaving then will have to be off site (or certainly packed up) by midday or something.

Here's the list of people confirmed as going. I've removed the Irish guys as have heard nothing. If they come back online, they're still more than welcome. This is an exercise in numbers really:

1.Blatantarrogance (Nathan)
2.Munky
3.Ziggy (Jon - & Hannah, & possibly John & Clare too!)
4.Andyboy (Susan)
5.March109
6.bimmaman (Carl)
7.jonb (jonb)
8. Cotty (Paul)
9. iDreamBeemer (Martin)
10. gortour (Gordon & Tanya) The leather interior is in...
11. tailoutcarlie
12. cookie325i (Lisa and Paul with his 'n' hers Sports
13. GingerTim (Tim Hancock and Dan Hunt)
14. jmc330i (James & Kim)
15. tezk
16. Paul, a non-zoner with an E36 325TDS (Not only wrongness, but DIESEL too... Wink)

So 21 people in total, Ziggy to confirm his friends there. (23 in that case)

If anyone knows anyone who would like to come along, please feel free to invite them. Any close contacts form another forum, give them the heads up too. I reckon aim for 30 as a rough guide. I'll confirm with the site by the end of the week.

ill be bringing my matey along as he has a tent and owes me fifty quid :D
have some great ideas for a route, ill even print every one off a map in case they get lost,
It shouldn't be too taxing, Cornwall has three roads!!
sounds like a challenge munky winkeye i still think this is a good route;
Image

as for traffic, if its busy now, it will be busy then. went back to work today :woohoo: and there was cars everywhere :(

only prob i can see is parking for all cars, group shots etc. you have to pay to get nto lands end car park but its only a quid and if they arn't busy we can commandeer part of the car park.

So to save people going back through 25 pages of mostly cr*p, is this still the firmed up arrangements Nathan?

Meeting on the Friday at mid-day at Taunton Deane Services on the M5.
The convoy from the Southern region will head down the A35 and meet up with the main convoy in the Exeter area.

Nathan, I guess you're about 3/4hr from TauntonDeane to Exeter, so we'll meet with you - I guess - about 1pm? Any meet area in mind? Services @ J30?

The whole convoy can then pick up the A30 and on to the campsite... http://www.thpark.co.uk/

Well, I have a modified valance on my Touring at the moment after a storm brought a lump of tree down and left it in the road in a very untidy manner. I came round the corner and the car decided to tidy up and shove the branch into the ditch... :x

Firstly your list is out of date mate, see mine above.

Secondly Taunton Deane to Exeter is 25-30 mins tops, at sensible speeds.

Cotty should be at mine for midday, aiming to be at Exeter Services for 1.30 pm. He has a big hike on his hands, 2 hours to mine then 2 to the campsite, so he's stopping at mine for a brew and a leg stretch. We'll be tight for 1.30 at Exeter, hence 1.30 to 2pm. Should really be 35 mins to Taunton, 30 to Exeter services, the extra half hour gives us time to feck about a little.

Where would you like to meet up mate? Should imagine the a35 to Exeter brings you guys out somewhere near the services? Maybe back up the M5 1 stop??

Hey, looks like we both are in the modified valence club, though mine is due to crap driving!!!

I have your number already Nathan. I did send you mine, but if you need it again let me know.
Sorry about the list, you're quite correct, I missed it. Took it from about page 5 I think...
The A35 comes onto the M5 at J29, services are J30, one stop South... according to my map anyway...
Will that do to meet up? I'm assuming you'll take the A30, so this is still north of your turnoff at J31.
Unless you're on about the Services at Collumpton at J28, but don't see much point in going 7 odd miles north to meet up and come back south again...

I have a replacement wheel fitted, and a replacement valance in the garage ready to be sprayed when I can get together with a mate of mine with a compressor. The plastic inserts are being picked up at the New Forest meet on Sunday, and then all can be resprayed and refitted. May even cut out the rust on the front wing and give that a squirt of paint too, while the paint's in the gun.

Indian Queens isn't as bad as it used to be. We should hit it prior to 3pm therefore missing the build up to rush hour, we'll be fine, it's another few weeks until schools kick out, which was also a consideration. I know it's undergoing major road works, but was looking fairly much there last December.

Gordon, text me mate, I don't have your number :(

We'll meet at Exeter services. That's the best bet, accessable from both sides of the M5 and Exeter itself. Plenty of space too.

trust me mate i was up there today, they have most of the new road done, unfortunately everyone hurtles down the new bit and gets stuck when it goes briefly back down to one lane. if your feeling like a scenic trip branch off a30 sooner and go down the a39, great road with great views plus you wont have to drive thru newquay which is nice.

I've just realised what time you will get here, ignore all that^^^ :o:

Sent you a text Nathan.
I will set up my 'convoy' from this area to meet up at Exeter Services (J30 ?) between 1.30 and 2.

@ Ziggy, March109 and gaszman... and anyone else heading down from this way... If you guys want to join the Westerly convoy, you're more than welcome guys. Gareth and Dave, I'll hopefully see you both tomorrow at the Southern Meet, and have fun at Wincanton Ziggy.

Am thinking there is a couple boyo's coming from Newport way. The Irish boys were meant to be meeting them but the Irish have vanished.

Get your name down mate, aim for 1.30pm at Exeter Services on Friday. You know you want to winkeye
