moving an engine

i have to get my engine to a bloke who lives 8 miles away from me. does anyone have any advise for moving it? it weighs a ton!

My touring has been used to transport 3 engines so far.
When I had the m20 in the back and a 1.6 m40 up front it struggled a bit but I managed to persuade a random pisshead that the one in the back was hoked up and it was twin engined and 4x4... so it was worth it.
My interior is f*cked though and it smells of oil.

thanks for the reply's guy's. im going to borrow with intent to give back, a pallet from work. i will roll the bastard onto it!
I recently picked up a 325i engine and box complete with all ancillaries. To move it, I hired a luton van with tail lift which made the job a doddle. Some ratchet tie downs would be useful too unless you don't mind your engine joining you in the cab under braking!
