How much is it worth....

It's dolphin grey, 136k miles, SH got lost in house move

One rear arch needs replacing and some slight welded needed on front foot wells. Drivers seat ripped.

Drives perfect, just done new engine mounts and brakes.

If your gonna keep the car then yes mate course it is.If you only plan to keep the car a short while then no mate course it's not.

Im gonna sound a tw@t now, coz im gonna be harsh.......

if you intend keeping it, spend whatever the hell you like on it! Im up to 5.6k on my sport, and still going! But i dont care, coz im gonna keep it till i leave the world in a blaze of glory!

If you intend selling it on, then i reckon on the following approximate values...

Rear arch sorting (inc paint) Ԛ£250
Welding foot wells Ԛ£200
Drivers seat re-upholstering (cloth/leather?) Ԛ£50-200
no s/h is a bummer and kills resale value!
pictures are needed on this, but on a pre facelift sport (with the market STILL needlessly demanding mtech 2 cars) and needing the above work, id say a 1k-1.4k mate.
Dont any1 have a go, but thats all id pay for one needing work, coz as i found out myself, its never "JUST" a "BIT" of welding on the foot wells and its never "JUST" one arch...it ends up being outer arch and inner arch, patching up rear slam panel/valance thingy,
blending it all in, time stripping the interior out properly etc etc etc.

Pics may make my guesstimate higher/lower so post em up for us to have a gander at.

oh, and "long live the mtech 1 metal bumper massiv!"

the problem also is u can count on your hands how many truly nice m-tech 1's there are left. So who knows how the price of these will go in a few years time, as far too many have gone to the scrapyard. Plus production numbers were low compared to the later sports.

Good points, well made mate. Im working on making mine a truely nice example, but as most people on here know, thats costing me serious money to do! There ARE times that i wish i had bought Ants sport and saved myself the hassle! (and about 2k!)

Production numbers were VERY low compared to facelift sports! Just look at the numbers of pre/post facelift sports on here....and we are a bunch of enthusiasts, so god knows we must have most of the ones left in the country between us all!

i know of a lachs silver sport simon if you are interested. Dunno if the guy is still selling it, but it was up for Ԛ£1100. was ok too. needed a rear arch and a tune up and a couple of more minor jobs. partially wish i had bought that one too!

Well not VERY different if the book I have is correct then there were 2045 mtech1s and 2357 Mtech2s...

It looks nice though Sam, a minter has to be worth as much as mint facelift one (and one has been known to fetch more than 4K) despite the strange market preferance for the late cars. But on the whole they seem to be cheaper as they are generally have more rot.

Very difficult to put a price on it though...
