Right, id like to know if a later engine can be run using early management system on my 325sport.
The reason i ask is because i have an engine in the garage in bits (the one from my sport) but i have a complete one from my OLD breaker (later type)
Question is - can i use my later engine in my early car with early management TEMPORARILY until i get enuf Ԛ£Ã”šÃ‚£Ãƒ”šÃ‚£ to rebuild my early engine?
I should know this, but i dont.
Cheers gents!
Possibly a stupid question - Pre & Post facelift Engines

Yea, i know this - i know the blocks are the same and the heads are the same, but why the difference in management systems?
The earlier cars have higher comp pistons, which is where they get "more power" from.
The bit that im not sure of is the cooling system - the hoses are totally different and i guess it affects the way the car is cooled, and therefore the way the car will respond when its warm, hense why i need to know if i can run a std later type engine with the early management and also, will the connectors be compatable between the 2?
I may chat to ant and find out the details... no doubt the Oracle will know!

i'm not too familiar with these engine's, scott
but i'm guessing the different managments with the later engines might be something to do with stricter engine emission's ????

Hi Scott, Ive just spent the last couple of days changing looms over in my cab, answer to your question yes the engines are trasferable but just about every loom connector is diferent from the early to the late engine apart from the icv, afm, tps, but if you have the correct hoses etc youll be ok hope this helps a bit, Dave

Dave, thats exactly what i needed to hear. not what i WANTED to hear i will admit, but thats what i was thinking would be the problem, so thanks for backing up my initial thoughts regarding connectors.
