Is this really the going rate for an old E12? Fair enough its in decent nick but £3k+
I'd want a half decent M535i for that.

Fair point - the only one I've seen on the road is one I pass on the way to work in Ipswich. I just can't imagine they're particularly desirable when an E28 is a far better, more rust resistant car.maxfield wrote:They are very hard to come by now.

They have some lovely cars there (the Calypso red 735i is really nice), but a carburettor 520 with chrome arches is probably the least desirable BMW imaginable. As you say, £3200 buys a very clean M535i, some some fartless old turd.

you can get an m535i for this money but this is in very good condition and if you want one in this shape where are you going to get it? these old 5's seem to be popular at the moment I have seen a lot make good money recently whereas a couple of years ago you could get them for next to nothing.

me and my brothers just had a e12 520 T reg given to us for free engine and box rebuilt 30tho mioes ago body rough but a very good underneth wont belong before there all gone and i ricently broke a 528i e12 as it was past rebuilding
