Before you say it - I have spent the last hour using the 'search' function looking for the answer - but to no avail...

My question is this:

Will I need to drill any holes to fit the Tech 2 side pods and sills to my car? (325 touring)

The front bumper & valance is already on, the rear I know how to fit (found out using the search function....thanks guys.... :D ) but the sides are a mystery to me! :?

I know where each part of the side pods go (4 pod sections and a sill for each side) but I just wanted to find out if they utilise the exising holes or if I need to drill any more? (and if so - WHERE!!)

I bought the car off Gcorky at the weekend and it came with the complete Tech 2 kit. Because he'd already had it sprayed ready to fit, I don't want to leave it in my garage too long where it might get scratched or damaged....I want it on the car where it belongs!

Graham also gave me a carrier bag FULL of new clips and fittings - so many that I just gave up looking in the end!

If I post up a picture of each type of clip, does anyone here think they'll be able to identify where they go?

Even better, if anyone is in or near the Bristol area and fancies giving me a hand in exchange for endless cuppa's courtesy of my G/friend and a crate of beer to take home, please let me know....

Many thanks for any advice given,

Bruce.

Thanks for the info guys....

I'm going to have a sort out of the clips over the weekend and see if I can reference them against the ones in Tony's link (already had that site, but didn't think to use it for that purpose! Thanks Tony  )

So Chrisp, what you are saying is that the dor pods themselves don't need drilling, but the sills do? Any further info would be appreciated because I'd hate to take a Black&Decker to my sills only to find out I didn't need to 8O :?

Thanks again,

Bruce.

ok, dont hold me to this as i may be totaly wrong.

from reading that drawing it seems as though:

the side skirt is atatched in the same manner as the standard (se) side skirt is on a touring.

the front wing bit needs drilling and then riviting.

the door pods clip around the doors in some manner.

and the bit on the back arch needs drilling and riviting.

but thats all just edjucated guesses by an engineering student and could be dodgyer than a 9 bob note.

Thanks for that ScreechyHair, I was looking at the drawing and thought something similar (door pods look like they clip under the door somehow and use the upper trim holes too.....)

The 'rivets' on the end pieces are those plastic pop in ones with the centre section that pushes the prongs out - but I think you may be right about having to drill those holes....will have a closer look over the weekend.

Thanks again,

Bruce.

Thanks dude....I may well take you up on that offer :D :D

My Mrs makes a mean sarnie and isn't shy with the tea either! I've got jacks, stands etc....but having some extra 'figuring out' power would be more than welcome! 8)

Let me know if you really want to do this and I'll PM you my details....

Regards,

Bruce.
