Hello people. Just out of interest i'm wondering whether an insurance company will only pay out if the car has MOT?
My friend had an insurance company pay out when he didn't have any MOT.
Kind regards.

Insurance should cover fire/theft and if someone else crashed into his parked car.
however insurance wouldnt cover him if he was driving without MOT and crashed into something or someone.

if the car was being driven to an mot station then yes.
If the car was being driven normally with out an mot then the car will be deemed
unroadworthy and will not be covered.

The car will be covered, even fully comp...however, you WILL be offered a reduced payout/offer for any claim to your own vehicle, which may well be what happened to your friend BIGJO

My mate had a full payout from insurance which was quite shocking as we thought he wouldn't get jack?!
Should insurance payout full if the car is not mot'd & is stolen?
Kind regards.
